Zard 1st 4/102 BGS 5.5 -> 6.0? Should I try?

Good afternoon,

I am collector and trying to get the best grades out of my cards.

I am just wondering, what you guys think is the value difference between BGS 5.5 and BGS 6.0?

I am doubting to get it cracked, regraded, hoping to bump it to BGS 6.0.

For me it is difficult to figure out if it is worth. Depends at first, at the possible price difference.

Thanks.

I personally don’t really see the benefit. It’s just a number and most people understand that a nine and 10 are basically the same thing when it comes to grading. You could end up getting knocked down.

I’d just leave it. You say you are a collector, so why does the value matter? Or why does what the label say matter?

You have it in hand now. Why risk losing such a nice card in shipping for something that isn’t a guarantee to bump up?

Don’t think most folks can show you the difference between a BGS 5.5 and BGS 6, so there’s a chance for the grade bump.

Is it worth regrading? No imo, keep it or cross it.

Your best option would be to get rid of it and send it over to me.

Anything under BGS 8 is no man’s land. Those grades are given so infrequently that it’s hard to discern what constitutes a 5.5 vs. 6 vs 6.5. I agree with others here that you should keep it as is and enjoy it. Or better yet, free the card from the slab and start a really beautiful binder.

No point paying the shipping, grading, insurance and have the risk of damage or loss to go from 5.5 to 6 imo

The difference between 5.5 and 6 is negligible. It’s not the same as the difference between 8.5 and 9 for example. If you don’t care about paying the cost to grade then crack and submit again.
