I like niche things. Yugioh has a lot of random niche english releases, moreso than pokemon. Tournament support cards are actually rare and valuable unlike pop series.
When I first started collecting I would buy up dumb commons of Tournament Pack sets:
Tournament Pack cards are my favourite sets
The downside is that this stuff is impossible to sell 5+ years later, especially foreign cards.
Although I like the idea, at the same time I think it’s better to keep the focus of this forum on Pokémon and only mention other TCGs in the side collections part every now and then like we do now. It’s a shame we simply don’t have a Yu-Gi-Oh forum which is even 1/10th as active as the Efour forum for Pokémon, though.
If I was any good at web development and had the time I would have. But although I’m a software developer, I kinda suck at front-end and user interfaces, and am also not too experienced with OWASP security. But if anyone here plans on making one I don’t mind helping out if I can, and I would definitely join.
If I was a bigger yugioh guy I might have taken on the project. (Also, if I wasn’t busy with a different project) I’m sure there’s enough people here to get it off the ground though. Just need a few people willing to commit to it and have the right skills between them and it can easily be done. Just need one person to step up, be a leader, and get it going.
I used to play Yugioh competitively years back and recently got into collecting it more. I just bought 30 OTS 9 Packs which are SUPER rare and are the only pack to pull Ulti Stratos! So glad I found them posted. Going to be holding on to them for a while!
I have posted it once before a long time ago here.
I’ve also posted some of my error purchases here and here.
Oh, and here is my rarest / most expensive Yu-Gi-Oh card currently in my collection:
Some interesting facts about this card, which marks the 10,000th Japanese (OCG) Yu-Gi-Oh card printed.
It’s a special one-time rarity called the 10,000 Secret Rare. It’s very similar as the 20th Secret Rare rarity, but with an “10000” imprint in the description instead of a “YU-GI-OH! Official Card Game 20th Anniversary” imprint.
Its name is a very suiting Ten Thousand Dragon
Its code at the bottom-left is 00010000
The background below the tail is the same vortex that can be found at the back of every Yu-Gi-Oh card
The tips of the dragon’s wings and breast plate look like a fountain pen tip. That is because in Japan, the fountain pen can be directly translated into Ten Thousand Year Brush.
Its effect is also suiting: *Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing monsters you control whose combined ATK and DEF are 10000 or more. If this card is Special Summoned by this effect, this card’s ATK and DEF becomes 10000.*Even though it was part of a set, the pull rates are low enough and this card is popular enough to be worth roughly 900-1200 USD right now (I bought it for 358 USD not too long after it was released, and I’m glad I didn’t wait ).
Overall an amazing and historical card, and a center piece of my Yu-Gi-Oh collection.
Haha, it has. But the lighting in my room sucks tbh. If anyone knows good portable lighting with a nice setup for taking proper natural-light pictures even in evenings or Winter, let me know.
