Yugioh collectors

I played a blue eyes deck back in the day when it was the meta. It’s a much easier card game to get into (at least it was) than Pokémon. My yugioh collection consists of bulk from my childhood, my decks, and the metal bewd and dark magician from the Japanese 20th anniversary.

Eventually I’ll get all of the original theme decks and possibly a psa 10 SDK blue eyes, but at the moment I feel they’re a bit over hyped for the amount out there.

well the price still going up after I picked up sdk blue eyes 1st ed (lp-exc) under 100 about 3 months ago. You barely see any NA print besides AE which is annoying. I gave up searching for exodia NA 1st ed print, because of AE (won’t show the back) and fake lob 1st cards that still going around.

I’m just going after the unlimited versions of all of those. i’m really only getting them for nostalgia’s sake, they’re by no means rare haha.

Just don’t go crazy like me. I end up replacing every unlimited with 1st Ed because I felt like it not good enough. Price difference between unlimited and 1st Ed are huge. :astonished:

I definitely won’t haha, first edition stamps in yugioh mean nothing to me. I never noticed as a kid so I don’t really care now. Pokemon cards on the other hand…

Does anyone know a Yu-Gi-Oh forum that’s even half as active as the Efour forum for Pokémon? In the past I was using the Pojo forum, but I’ve looked at it a few days ago and see one reply a day on average, and in the collection section even 1 or 2 weeks in between posts… So that forum is already 9/10th dead by now (not as worse as PokéGym where the last posts are from 2017 I guess).

The yugioh reddit is pretty active, but I don’t really see reddit as a forum. More like a place to post something to have a small discussion going on, or share pulls/collection updates similar as Instagram.

I’m currently in the process of updating my Yu-Gi-Oh rarity collection, and plan on making an article about it soon (with pictures/scans of each of the 100+ rarities to explain differences). But right now I have no idea where I could post that article, except in the side collections section here on Efour with a link to reddit.

Not sure if you guys have seen this.

Pretty cool to see if $12k-$15k is truly the market price especially for an auction.

it use to be very active back in 2012 which I join during that time… now its dead, most people went to reddit now.

Yeah, noticed that. I also just saw the yugioh-reddit has links to three Yu-Gi-Oh forums in the side-bar, but those include the Pojo forum, and two other forums which are almost equality as inactive: YGOrganization and DuelistGroundz.

Ah well. I guess I’ll just post my upcoming article on reddit with picture-links, as well as here by modifying my earlier created Rarity Collection post.

I’m done with compiling the list of Yu-Gi-Oh rarities since yesterday, although I still have to wait for loads of them to arrive since I ordered new cards the last couple of days. Right now my list contains 108 officially released rarities (although I’m unsure about 3, which were the only ones I was unable to find/buy thus far), as well as 69 misprinted rarities (although I’m still missing quite a few of these, and I’m sure there are more variations to be found). Might still be a couple of months until the article will be finished and posted, but I doubt anyone knew there are more than 150 different rarities for Yu-Gi-Oh.

Dang, usually I don’t see that type of collector for Yu-Gi-Oh. Would love to see the post.

So I am not very knowledgeable about yugioh but I have a small collection leftover from when I was a kid and I have some pretty good nostalgia for it. Anyway I saw on ebay you can buy a Korean Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon Booster Box for about $20-$25 including shipping. I know it’s korean but seriously that much for a booster box of the very first set? You don’t see anything like this in pokemon.

So am i missing something? Tempted to buy some boxes for the nostalgia factor.

you could if you want. Most collector rather buy NA print 1st ed compare to E, AE, and A print.

I don’t know what E, AE, and A print are. Yugioh is just a small side collectible for me, so i’m not really willing to shell out a lot of money. Just looking to scratch a nostalgia itch.

Europe print, Australian print, and Asian English print.

if you don’t want to go for 1st ed, unlimited ed still cheap option

They reprinted every english set in Korean around 2010.

Korean cards are for the most part worthless aside from some very rare tournament support promos.

Definitely fun to open as they have the same pull rates as an english box. I’ve opened Magician’s Force and LOB myself.

For about 2-3 years these have been unavailable on ebay, without looking it to it at all I want to say they’ve fired up the printers again for another large batch.

I had the same problem when I was looking for a comparable forum on Google I ended up here.

Maybe we could have a sub-forum under the side collectibles here for popular topics like magic, yugioh etc. Would make browsing here a lot easier and would probably attract new users/more activity in the side collectibles category on this site.

That’s some good information. Definitely going to pick some up since they are so cheap right now. I wonder why they would only reprint
LOB and not the others?

@budget, I always wanted to see your collection. Got any link?

I don’t share my collection. I post some rarer cards that never really surface in the discord and recently purchased threads but that’s about it.

They’re actually a couple of dollars cheaper on ebay now than when I bought my Korean boxes to open. Could be that Korean distributors have released product they had stashed away.

It’s good fun anyway.
