Hi, I’m not sure if this is the appropriate thread for my question so apologies if not, but I have had a hard time understanding the value of European English YuGiOh cards compared to the US English. I have three 1st edition SDK Blue Eyes White Dragons in grades PSA 5, PSA 6 and PSA 7, but with the code SDK-E001, I wasn’t able to find many on eBay with this code so I was just wondering if this is because there is no demand for the European cards. Sorry if this is a noob question but I don’t collect YuGiOh so I have no idea about it.

They have sold for $2k-$2.5k AUD… but the auctions literally start at those prices and only get 1-2 bids.

There’s very little interest in them from the collecting community but a rising tide lifts all boats…

Don’t buy them unless you’re an lob completionist or they’re cheap imo. Save up and buy the “real” 1st edition or buy unlimited boxes, not niche releases with narrow appeal.

This goes for European Release and Asian-English LOB as well. If you can afford to spend $2k on a booster box of yugioh you may as well wait and spend $8k on the more desirable box instead.

Awesome, thanks! I personally prefer to collect things that have AUS releases over international when they’re available, so this would be a perfect box for me. Can the cards inside these packs be differentiated from other releases?

There will be an ‘A’ next to the set number. For example, ‘LOB-A001’ instead of the NA release that will have ‘LOB-001’.

Fun fact, there is no unlimited release of the Oceanic/Australian version, only 1st edition. Found that out from here actually.

Oh! that’s great info, cheers

Australian (Oceanic)/European/Asian-English releases are worth AT LEAST half of what the North American prints of the cards sell for.

The cards which drop the least would be Tournament Pack 1 cards and the most would be LOB.

Raw European SDK BEWDs would be worth around $60 USD if that gives you a frame of reference. imo they’re all substitutes for each other and that’s reflected in prices when you start looking at UK ebay/AUS ebay.

AE cards from later sets in 2003 to some GXs can fetch crazy prizes but you can count the people who want them on one hand.

Thanks for the info I appreciate it!

Can anyone help me with a quick question on 1st ed. IOC booster boxes? How can I tell whether a box is hobby or retail? Specifically, the UPC for the box I’m looking at is 4042323342746. The code on the bottom is 102520. The seller claims it’s a box that yields CED, but the only info I could find online is here: www.pojo.biz/board/showthread.php?t=20859, and it doesn’t mention the numbers I’m seeing on this box. Thanks in advance!

I go off the word doc made by Ghezzi. Theres no gaurentee its correct though and i havent tested it lol.

Does anybody know what signs to look for on a resealed magic ruler 36 pack box? Looking at one but since these original boxes just had clear wrap im not sure what to look for.

You’re best off just eyeballing ebay listings tbh. See if anything looks wrong.

Main reason why I buy FET and above. I think I can differentiate the sealing but I am not 100% certain. Ease of mind when it comes to buying a sealed box with Konami logo.

I understand the arguments, 'buying from a trusted source, asking more knowledgeable people, look for resealed signs like a bottom with dirt etc.'. But I rather not buy the orginal boxes if I could get an ease of mind, also, box art has full monsters instead of a character in the middle of the box XD.

Anyone aware of a member who carries an inventory of vintage Yugioh?

I am considering buying some unlimited North American cards from LOB as a side collection. Ungraded, but still near mint (Ideally, an 8 equivalent).
