I imagine TAG would have exactly the same slowdown/growing pains as PSA if they randomly had a massive increase in submissions. I can’t imagine those AI grading machines are cheap and/or readily available.
I don’t think this is a ‘company’ issue, as annoying as it is, its just a symptom of a overly hot market
Oh i dont care if tag takes a long time
As long as they take business away from psa. Not because i dont like psa or something: but because even psa knows they cant keep up with demand so they raised prices
The market is hot but cgc still has fast turnover
Psa is flooded. So they need more competition to “relieve themselves”

You know, honestly, if people start sending all their junk to TAG and it reduces turnaround time and prices at PSA then I’m all for it. Seems like we’re in another social media-driven “grade everything” boom and it’s clogging up PSA for my species collecting purposes. Take alllll the junk you want TAG ![]()
Seriously,
So many will send in anything thats a “hit”
did you really need to send varoom baby shiny? It’s only worth $26 in a psa10
you already told me your not collecting paldean fates and I know for a fact you dont care about Varoom
Then you have to consider selling fees, commissions, trade in fees, ext. And thats not considering it comes back as a psa9 and you actually lose money
Just sell the raw for $3 and move on
but as soon as PSA has these TCG or Pokemon specials the flood gates open and you see 100-350 card submissions with a ton of bulk cards
Personally, unless I’m collecting the card for my PC, the card needs to be worth $50 slabbed for me to even start considering to send it in. I know everyone has their own personal thresholds and there is nothing wrong with that but a lot of ppl are trying to scalp a $5 gain on a slabbed card and you end up with psa saying
“sorry guys, we have to increase our prices because we are so busy. who would have ever known running specials throughout the end of the year would cause this… sorry”
November special finished today! (2/19) Took forever to get started, but moved through grading and assembly pretty fast!
Out of curiosity, did you get upcharged?
I had an order received on Dec 3rd that has now been sitting in Assembly for over a week, which usually means upcharge in my experience.
I did. Mine was also in assembly for about a week and then once I approved the charges it completed within the day!
Good to know! Thanks!
Had a November bulk sub go from Research and ID to Assembly within a couple of hours a couple days ago…Either the status log is not being updated accurately OR I got a speed grader and everything is getting 6’s…
Arriving 6 weeks later and finishing first is a new PB for the lack of ‘First In First Out’ that PSA operates lmao
I have some good news on Beckett. They had a special that included subgrades at 25% off. It was cheaper to submit for subgrades than without them so I send off two bulk orders with the holiday special (It was around thanksgiving time). My cards were marked as received mid December (took forever), and only 2 weeks ago was the order confirmed as put in queue. But today one of the two orders has been graded for production (slabbing). This is admittedly a very fast turnaround for BGS bulk (2 months) with subgrades. What’s more, I sent two subs in. One was pack fresh raw cards I’ve never graded before, and the other was a bunch of PSA 8s that I thought were extremely harshly graded by my first ever PSA sub to end up in the New Jersey facility. The results were as I assumed: 3 cards remained the same grade. 21 cards were bumped to a higher grade or subgrade, and only 2 cards were lowered by a subgrade or grade. NO Pristines or black labels, but that was never what I was hoping for with this sub. Plenty of 9s and 9.5s and I’d assume those would have been 10’s with PSA Cali.
My assumption was that I could just simply crack that New Jersey sub and try to get a normal Cali sub with PSA, but while Beckett was doing a cheaper deal and including thorough subgrades, it just seemed practical to do a test to see how awful NJ PSA is. It’s like hitting the “get f*cked” lottery. In any case, my assumption is that my second sub which was sent at the exact same time, will have good news as well. This second sub I’m actually hoping to get more pristines and black labels from since they’re pre-graded from raw rather than leftovers from NJPSA.
Does anyone have an economy order at CGC right now? Mine is 10 days past it’s estimated turnaround
I wonder if it’s all hands on deck for the playtest cards
I do but not at estimated TAT yet but I can let you know if it gets there
Yeah lemme know. I’m at 30 biz days but still hasn’t shipped.
That’s a really quick turnaround considering mine was received on the same day but is still on Research & ID…PSA puzzles me.
