You can own a 1st edition psa 8 charizard for $120 - legit?

I wouldn’t go as far as saying they’re not trustworthy, but I don’t trust any grabbag in general. They’ve had issues as well in the past, but who hasn’t.

I wouldn’t enter in their raffle or buy their yugioh products, but I wouldn’t call them untrustworthy either.

/s means sarcasm…

Well that’s embarrasing for me, haha.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy raffles / lottery / random bs like this.

If you want an item, buy the item.

If you want to play lottery for the thrill, buy a lottery ticket.

  1. You have no control of whether it is truly random
  2. scams
  3. the seller has crap to sell and want to sell it for much more than its actual value by including it into raffles.

Not to say, they infringe numerous laws on raffles and lottery, depending on where you live / where the seller lives.

By buying these atrocious “deals”, you’re giving incentives to a lot of sellers to continue these shady, terribad practices.

I shit you not, just bought some yugioh cards from them. Order wasn’t “cancelled” but they informed me that my cards are “to be UD unlicensed reproduction that was made in the same factory cards but are not legal in tournament use. Please let us know how you would like to proceed with the order.”

Obviously I cancelled; I don’t want to deal with this garbage.

Edit: Also 1 of them was in a PSA graded case!

Could you post a screen grab of this message?

I blanked out things that would tie directly to my order because I did not get my refund yet, but here’s the screen grab:

If you want the full correspondence Scott, I can forward you the entire email privately.

Thanks for that! I wanted to understand the exact situation. Basically they are selling cards printed by someone in the factory without yugiohs permission?

No problem! I don’t think so…here is my guess:

  1. They bought some singles off of people who they then noticed it was fake, so they notified me, and said the fakes are almost identical to the real ones.

  2. In yugioh’s time period, there was a time before the hand off between Konami and Upper Deck where Upper Deck sold reproduction of cards illegally, which is one of the reasons why Konami took the company back. Perhaps that’s what they are mentioning? That means they they are still counterfeit cards though. Source: yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Konami_v._Upper_Deck

A red flag for me is that one of the “reproductions” got PSA graded…that’s a serious problem.

What basically happened in my case is I simply bought singles off their website (no mention that they are reproductions). A day or two later, I received the aforementioned email, saying they are reproductions.

#2 would be my guess, it’s a bit hazy but I do remember this happening yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Konami_v._Upper_Deck and it’s rumblings within the community. That is why although they are technically unlicensed product, they can be authenticated. Which sounds like a bit of an oxymoron doesn’t it?
