Well hello It’s time for the first collection update of the year. There’s nothing major and as you can see I’m continuing with similar theme as last year - ex series stuff. I also have a big ex-set order coming in from Troll and Toad and honestly, soon my sets will be mostly complete. When I get that order I’ll be missing a few random cards here and there plus a few ex. No idea what am I going to do with the Gold Stars though. Most of them are out of my range now unless I find really damaged Japanese ones But I’ll just live with it.
February update What I’ve mostly gotten is yet some more ex-series stuff and other things. My progress with ex sets (mixed sets like I’ve mentioned before about accepting any language and not going for variants) is quite far and I’m not missing much. I feel like I’ve left the worst for last lol like some Gold Stars and Rocket’s ex. But I’m slowly getting there. I have all holos now and I’m not missing any. I think I have almost all rares too. For uncommons and commons there are only a very few ones that I don’t have yet, most are from Magma vs. Aqua that I still need.
This was a bigger purchase from Troll and Toad that filled most of my sets, they are in piles by set as I was too lazy to put them all nicely to take photos but you can get a sneak peak from this:
This one I was missing from my graded Flygon collection, I just keep thinking about the fact that in the past PSA 9 used to go for what I paid for this card… But it’s super clean! Literally the only thing wrong with it is a small indent on the back side that I had difficulty to spot. So yeah, I really don’t mind a mint looking PSA 5
Last but not least, my Shining Fates ETB pulls. I managed to pre-order one, I feel like it’s very possible that this is the only opening for me from this set but we will see.

I’ve gotten quite far with my ex sets. I have stuff on the way and some updates you will see now and later too, but overall I don’t need much anymore! Literally this is everything I need, everything else I already have or they are on their way to me (in any language, plus I don’t count differences of reverse and regular cards):

I may just give up on the Team Rocket Returns Gold Stars as it’s very unlikely they’ll pop at a price I would pay lol :S Here Comes Team Rocket is painful too, it’s just a trainer so I wouldn’t like to spend what it’s worth these days. Oh well. Also keep in mind some of the cards I’m having are in trash condition just for the heck of getting them cheap. Which is why I’ve now been exploring Buyee and stuff.
Well let’s get on with it shall we as there are quite a lot of stuff to go through.
And now the thing I was the most excited about, my first ever Buyee haul! Now… It might look like this is a super stonk purchase but trust me when I say I went the cheapest / almost cheapest for everything I could find. I got all of these for less than what like Mewtwo and Snorlax would cost on eBay combined, to give a perspective. I didn’t suddenly get rich or something. Just putting it out there And none of them are gem mint but as I’ve already mentioned I don’t really care when it comes to my binder collection plus most of these have clean / cleanish

And lastly let me introduce you to my new smol collection: cards with palm trees on background! I love palm trees and Pokemon has surprisingly many cards with them, especially in the Sun & Moon era. I love tropical themes in general but going for every single tropical card felt like a huge task so I narrowed it down to palm trees. For bow I just want one of each art, doesn’t matter which language etc. It’s been fun and I’ve noticed some nice cards I haven’t really noticed before due to it. I have hard time deciding if every Exeggutor counts as a palm tree card or not But for now I’ll only get the ones that clearly have palm trees on the background ignoring the Exeggutor himself.
Here’s some cards I picked up for that collection. Yes, the Umbreon has palm trees on the right side.
