cullers:
I’m not arguing with you. I don’t have an issue with what you’ve done. Your justifications are just false. You said you did It to help another member, you didn’t. You admited you did it to benefit yourself.
If you don’t understand how the two possibilities coexist–the win-win is breaking even to help BCZ (a benefit to me) or selling the card to profit (a benefit to me)–please read above.
BCZ understands (and will be getting the card), and perhaps flyingpokemansmaster and pokenbroski now understand after reading my answers to their questions.
So, you don’t realize that win-win means benefits both parties? You clearly benifit, how does BCZ?

I’m not sure if this is a possibility, but maybe Rusty could cancel the sale and give BCZ the $200 dollar discount sale back? Then everybody would be happy
I informed Rusty that I would be completely fine with this.

lexleo:
We can do a f/f payment if BCZ feels comfortable–given that he’ll have my name, address, decade-old eBay account, and university email–but the 2.9% PayPal fee that would otherwise be taken from the $2000 wouldn’t be a net cost to me: I made 3% when I bought the card (2% on my credit card and 1% on eBay).
Do you now understand how I would break even for the benefit of helping BCZ?
Feel free to ask additional questions.
Yeah, sorry, I’m not buying it. If you fail to account for risk and liability, you are being foolish. I think that’s all I have to say on the matter.
What “risk and liability” are you talking about? The purchase will be insured (by PayPal) and the package will be insured (by USPS) on all ends of this transaction.
I understand that you have nothing more to say.

So why is that not a thing? Tbh if your main intention was to help BCZ he should have gotten the discount.
Looks like we have a confirmed sale now though? Congrats @britishcolumbiazards

Rusty said he’d honor my eBay sale as “first,” which makes complete sense from his perspective (but leaves us with what I’ve called a Shakespearean twist).
And, yes, the card is BCZ’s!
@britishcolumbiazards Hey man, here’s my advice to you on your quest for the right card. You should wait for one that you find desirable to be listed on Ebay and since you are ready to pay you can buy it right when you see it. Don’t feel pressured to buy a particular copy of this card. There will be more PSA 7’s out there. I don’t give a fuck what anyone says, if a stranger steps in the middle of you and a seller to “help you out” you should tread very carefully, especially when this is a four figure sum of money. Buying directly from the source is the way to go. Good luck with your search.
Entered thread to help out a member, left and just came back to read this thread:
If you supply the link publically then it’s open game.
If you’re concerned that the “referral” should fall into the wrong hands then just PM the OP.
Make any sense?

congratulations…but isn’t that a thin stamp 8 that just sold?
Thank you and no it was thick
If this is the one you bought, it was a thin stamp.

Nvm you are correct lol

Thank you and no it was thick
If you got the one that sold for $3700, that’s definitely thin. Thin/thick refers to the thickness of the “1” in the stamp. If I’m looking at the wrong card then disregard this.
Edit: apparently I’m a minute too slow here lol
Still love the card.
Congrats nevertheless, fantastic card to own.
Good job @britishcolumbiazards!
That was a good buy.
*waits for Lex to ask facts on why it’s a good buy*
This was a fun thread though.
Congrats man! that 8 was clean. Great choice!

Still love the card.
You’ve made the right decision, IMO. That’s a very fine looking card Love the centering too, I can just stare at it all day long and long
