I agree these would def be insane cards if they were holos, thank god for the player’s promos.
But I also agree with Bambino, not because I care about the value of the card over its appeal, but because it would be virtually impossible to pull these gold stars if the packs were be able to be weighed.

iirc A lot of these packs ended up being in the possession of some individuals in batches of hundreds of packs (possibly more?). If they were holo’d then these few individuals would probably have hoards of literally dozens of these gold stars.
I like the aesthetics of the Japanese Gold Stars more than english anyway. So I guess my “woulda, coulda, shoulda” is that Nintendo should have followed the transition to gray/silver borders instead of the yellow like the japanese print did starting with the ex era. Just my preference but I don’t think the yellow border then or now ever complimented the “new age” design very well after wotc. If you disagree that’s fine but you are a tasteless swine.
Put more effort into english promo. Adding a stamp to a commun/uncommon card you can find in booster packs is very uninspired. Exclusive english artwork or japanese promo translation plus a stamp would look much better, in fact wotc black star are still one of the best promo set ever made
They printed vs series in English, but there is only a few cards around, and it was not a proper circulated set i know… wish it was, dam amazing artwork, one of my favourite series.
But there have been sold English vs cards many years ago now…
I’m not sure what the exact term is for the current holo pattern, but it looks like an oil spill and it’s terrible. I’ve got some cards that I can barely tell are holo. I know that can be the case with every generation, but I have multiples of cards where some are obvious and others are not. They should have stuck with cosmos.
I would say a few things shadowless boards make the card colours really pop and reverse holos going from the legendary collection fireworks to basically a shine over the whole card that really doesn’t look to appealing and make rares actaully rare so like 1 a box or something with 6 to 10 to collect like old school shinings as most of the valuable cards in newer sets are either charizard errors or cards that are playable

My biggest issue with the current sets is with the center foil rares. I hate how underwhelming the swirl holographic is. If they brought back the cosmos/galaxy patterns for the center foils I’d actually be happy to pull one.
the new full arts (SM) have boring backgrounds. It’s just one solid color or slight pattern.
Pokemon needs to bring back the 1st editions to both japan and north america. It would solve a lot of problems with the tcg.
3)Packaging for English product is awful: bulky, doesn’t protect cards, and generates lots of plastic and paper waste.
