I am indifferent to the clay cards. I know that some people do not prefer the clay or cgi cards. I like the cgi cards from the WOTC era. Some are done by the Illustrator: Keiji Kinebuchi. I guess I am nostalgic for the N64 style illustrations.
One illustration that I think is funny, but not really that bad is Dark Muk. I always thought that right hand was him throwing up the middle finger.
@smpratte – That reminds me of how Bowser’s pose was altered in Super Mario RPG. The original pose resembles a preemptive gesture for flipping the bird, yet the censors probably got uptight about it for no reason. I’m surprised WOTC didn’t do the same!
@frostyfluxy – I also prefer traditional illustrations with the Pokémon TCG. I do not mind a selection of CGI Pokémon TCG, yet this rendering of Rhydon irks me – greatly. I think it exaggerates his man-tits (laughs)
Most of Tomokazu Komiya’s work (except recently, where I think he’s actually improved a bit) all ties for last in my book.
