Why Should Someone Live In Your Area?

Well I mean comparing anything to that would be a loss haha. I’m paying 2k/month for a one bedroom in a quiet area about 1 min from the beach.

Winter does not exist here.

This weekend is a high of 90 degrees

It was 22 here in NYC yesterday so not sure I can help you lol

And here I am thinking about moving even further north from Mid-Michigan! I am looking at moving to a coastal city at least.

If you fancy an overseas move, you can consider Malaysia, it’s always 28-32 Degree Celsius 365 days a year and the general cost of living is cheap relatively speaking, like $600 is good for rent in the city, utilities and food per month.

Being a foreigner, you’d also have to experience the local treatment where most people here look at you funny and think you’re made of money, hence treating you nicely. Also there’s a lot of real estate/business opportunities as well. A 3-bedroom apartment in the city for $150k? Sounds like a pretty good deal if your source of income is from overseas (outside Malaysia).

London/most of England has relatively mild winters and summers.

If you love communism and 100% humidity at 40c, come on over next summer!

Winters help me appreciate “nice” weather even when its not really that nice lol

We’ve had record cold in Minnesota the last couple winters, including a stretch of about 2 weeks in which the temperature hovered around -20 degrees with a windchill of -40 degrees. It was pretty much impossible to even go outside for more than 10 minutes. Already this year, we’ve had temps in the single digits, which is about 30 degrees lower than usual for November. I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!

All our resorts, clubs, and casinos are wonderfully air conditioned:) Homes/rentals are very reasonable. Cheap quality buffets and amazing shows and entertainment are abundant.
A really great draw is since this is Las Vegas, friends and family visit all the time.
I was born and raised in Southern California but it’s no longer like it used to be and is getting worse.
I could pretty much live anywhere I want but all I can say s, “Vegas Baby”:+1::+1::+1:

San Jose. Perfect weather all year round. maybe a week or 2 of 90+ and it never gets below 50 except at night around this time.
However, rent is a bit on the pricey side. Also, great food from just about every corner of the world is nearby.
1 hour from San Francisco. 1 hour to the beach. 3 hours to Yosemite. 4 hours to Lake Tahoe. Local hiking. No fires here…yet.

If you can afford it, this is the perfect place to live.

However, family and friends are most important.

Here in southwest Finland summers are nice for the most part. And early autumns. The rest of the year I’m not the biggest fan of. Right now we have entered the phase of less and less sunlight for day, meaning it’s dark when I go to work in the morning and it’s dark when I go home on afternoon. It’s also raining a lot, and it’s grey for the most days. I always feel tired during this time and it will only get worse.

Snow would help with darkness, but here in south snow is not guaranteed by any means. The trend for last years has been that snow will start to stay only in like January. Last year we had surprisingly lot of snow though.

I wouldn’t go to northern Finland though. Complete darkness is starting soon (no sunlight at all at any time of the day) and they have sunlight during the whole day in summer. Like how do you live like that. It’s also colder up there in the summer and I like warm weather so I rather stay here in southwest.

When it comes to perfect weather though… If I could I would move to city of João Pessoa in northeast Brazil. I visited there this year for 2 weeks and the weather was like a dream for me. It was never under 27 C during the day and even when the sun went down you could still go outside with t-shirt and shorts with no problem. And even if it rained it wasn’t cold at all. I would love to live like that lol. For someone who easily feels cold that was perfect.

Here for the most part of the year you really have to think what to wear and it depends on so many factors. Temperature, moisture, wind… everything. You need to have so much clothes for every kind of situation. Smh

The total darkness sounds like a nightmare! How do people live there?!

A couple of years ago my wife and I went through the same thoughts. We lived in a rough town in England and wanted somewhere to raise our children. We went to Australia for a few months and fell in love with the place, the outdoor lifestyle, chilled people and great weather were perfect. It was, however, too far from family and friends (although you said you’re not too concerned about that).

We decided on Harrogate, England what was named a few years ago as “the happiest place in the UK” and it doesn’t take long to see why. The abundance of outdoor space, the friendly Yorkshire locals and the prestigious schools were enough to draw us here and we haven’t looked back ever since. The weather is typical English, a fair amount of rain and can get to -1 or a bit lower in the height of winter, but nothing compared to a lot of places.

If you’re this serious about it, just go for it and don’t look back. In these decisions you have to be selfish and figure what works best for you (and your partner if applicable of course). Your comfort zone is nice, but nothing ever grows there

Fk Phoenix come to Tucson. Tucson is prettier with mountains and is not as hot as Phoenix. Cost of living is cheaper and less traffic. I was stationed on the East Coast, f living in the snow and worry about rust. 6 hours to San Diego close to Vegas and Mexico. I miss the seasons but I can drive up to the mountains 5 minutes from here and get away from the heat. I’ve been around the US and other countries. Love how cheap it is here too. I would of moved to Australia too but I can’t be that far away from family.

They have some creepy movie about this awhile back. Fake because bloodsucking vampires came out I think but it was called 30 days of night or something.

I moved from Florida to Minnesota a couple of years ago for a job promotion. I absolutely hate it because of the winter. It feels like we have 8 months of winter and 4 months of spring! I don’t see how people stay here unless they just don’t know how nice it is not to have to shovel snow! I can’t get my pokemon cards from the mailman unless I shovel my sidewalk every day, haha!

I wouldn’t care so much about the snow if the wind didn’t hurt so bad…that is for sure.

Nah, much rather live here than TUC. There is a reason why there are millions more people that live in PHX vs TUC haha. It’s like…5 degrees cooler in TUC.

Australia here  was 39 degrees Celsius today so starting to warm up  I don’t actually live in this particular spot I’m mentioning but I go down south here every year for Xmas holidays. This place is Busselton:) it’s absolute bliss and a breath of fresh air away from city life and away from everything! There’s heaps of other country towns like margret river, Augusta or dunsborough  all are great places!! Me personally weather wise hate the cold ! Anything around 30-33 Celsius is perfect weather :ok_hand: come to Aus :facepunch:
