Which is the most forgettable Gen 1 Pokemon?

114 Tangela 48.4%
091 Cloyster 48.4%
090 Shellder 46.9%
098 Krabby 45.8%
099 Kingler 44.6%
102 Exeggcute 44.3%
103 Exeggutor 44%
108 Lickitung 41.3%

I actually agree with this for very heavy casuals

lickitung though i feel like it has an interesting design, but i can understand it being in last
I dont remember if you can even acquire this pokemon outside of trade in the original game…it wasnt very strong and has no evolution line

executor is what makes me make the casual argument though. Im pretty sure you had to face in in the elite four and he was decently strong. but i can understand most casual players not even getting that far

also krabby was a very annoying encounter if you island hop in the original game. Hes the reason i would load up on repel while swimming, but outside of this he seems very forgettable. His cards were tossed aside, and he wasnt really seen in the anime much at all. His design was lazy as well… lets make a crab and call it krabby., give it no distinct artwork outside of a standard crab and no unique moves…okay!

i agree with Seaking for me personally.

if before i took a look at original list of pokemon and you forced me to blindly fill them all in, I would most likely forget seaking ever was a pokemon

weedle on the other hand… i face my share of bug catchers, over and over and over. weedle and string shot again and again and again. Also because butterfree is actually decent in the early game and sometimes you would want to catch weedle to evolve him.

also because it’s literally an Ash caught pokemon and one of the saddest and most memorable moments in the anime is when ash’s butterfree leaves

Guys, we all know it´s the Drowzee/Hypno line. And it´s a shame, because Drowzee was actually a beast in the early gen 1 game.

I lean toward seaking but I’m surprised no one said weepinbell

There’s a few on my short list, with conditions.

Everyone who played Yellow used Mankey to beat Brock at some point. Mankey and Primeape also had the two big episodes in the show.

Wigglytuff had the Jungle holo that everyone traded at one point, and receives a fractions worth of attention from its infinitely more popular pre-evolution.

Lickitung, although inspiring in its futility, is too weird to forget completely, and thanks to Jessie it had significant face time in the anime.

Seaking is…well, Seaking is a candidate, yes, but my feel is that some people other than myself actually like it, and in a sense the fact that it is so forgettable makes people think of it every now and then. It also evolves from a less forgettable Pokemon, which is a sad thing to say.

Seel, Exeggcute and Victreebel don’t quite make the bottom. It’s close though.

Then there’s Tangela. One patch of grass below Pallet town, Erika, Base set, already inferior then completely butchered in the GSC special stat split, not saved by Eviolite, received a very relevant evolution, everyone who’s gone through the trauma of leveling up a Pokemon in GSC has encountered it a billion times. Utterly forgettable, probably.

Hmm.

Definitely Paras, Metapod, and Kakuna

One time I sat down and tried to write out the 151 Pokemon off of memory in 90 minutes. The last 4 left were Paras, Parasect, Goldeen, Seaking so scientifically speaking it has to be those??

I feel like the answer being Seaking at some point will be cemented as a fact.

Some weird orange or yellow rat-thing called Pinocchio or something along those lines.

Everyone is saying Seaking. Feels tough to forget a Pokemon with King in its name.

My answer is Kakuna. It’s the middle child you fly past should you ever chase a Beedrill.

I’d also put Venonat and Shellder in the mix.

Metapod’s stock is up these last few years :joy:

Look out Pikachu

This is my vote. If I had a Jigglypuff I would intentionally not evolve it to avoid ending with Wigglytuff

I dispute the tcg thing about wigglytuff.
Anyone who played around 2000 would remember do the wave.
It was the predominant deck once haymaker stopped being played
