Most forgettable gen 2 Pokémon?

So I thought, a discussion about the most forgettable Gen 1 Pokémon was a really cool idea. Let´s cover Gen 2 as well!

Right off the bat, I think Gen 2 has the highest percentage forgettable Pokémon of any generation. Don´t get me wrong, I love Gen 2 (it´s my favorite even), but Pokémon like Smeargle, Mantine and Magcargo just don´t tend to ring a lot of bells. And all this in a Gen with only 100 Pokémon.

I´m gonna go with Hitmontop. A lot of people seem to outright forget that it´s not just Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee. That says a lot.

if you played VG or TCG, you wouldn’t make this statement

gen 2 has a pretty strong cast of memorable pokemon, but i’d probably say one of the middle/early evos would be my choice as far as forgettable.

However, I did play the VG (competitively even), and still I´m making the statement. Not a very strong argument then.

It is indeed, and for me it is very memorable (as for other people who have played the VG), but a lot of people who like Pokémon don´t play competitively, yet they will still know, for example, Pichu. They won´t know Smeargle (or Magcargo).

I like the Ariados line! Gen II is awesome, but I think Stantler, Gligar, and Yanma (basically, most of the non-evolution pokemon at that time) probably don’t get much love. At least some got evolutions later, but some (like Stantler) have been left behind.

Yeah, although Stantler actually also got an evolution in Legend, but I don´t think that made it much more known.

Oh god, I completely forgot about Wyrdeer I haven’t played Legends Arceus or followed much of it, so I’m not as familair with the new pokemon there.
