Hate to sound like an old person but I think we’re at a point where most gen 1 Pokémon are pretty memorable. But my vote also goes to seaking

of course many people here grew up with gen 1, so they’ll never be forgotten. However, when trying to imagine the viewpoint of someone who didn’t grow up in “the original era”, i’d assume most of them are viewed as nothing special aside from maybe the starters (first and final form), pikachu, jiggly, gengar, gyarados/karp, lapras, ditto, eevees, lax, da birbs, dnite, and the mews.
same with most gens which only have a few stand out designs in the grand scheme of all pokemon.

true. there are certainly a few that have withstood the test of time and continue to be icons, but i’d still argue are only propped up by the nostalgia of that time.
we see this when japan has those giant polls where everyone votes for their favorite pokemon and it is nearly always more current gen pokemon than gen 1 near the top.
I will not stand for Dewgong slander…
But in all seriousness I think it’s probably Seaking.

i think this is supported by the fact Seaking is the last fully evolved gen 1 pokemon that hasn’t received a holo card or any special generational card like a SP, ex, LvX, etc (afaik)
