bang on. tgis is one of my fave cards of all time. it looks like a matisse painting. the for an electrode common card it really stops u in ur tracks where most will be like meh. love it or hate it, its a showstopper imo.
You all are going to rag on Komiya and Skyridge Gyarados. But then run around like chickens with their heads cut off for the next new set of 5Ban Graphics.
Two of the artists I collect, Komiya and Kusube, have been mentioned. But I love their work, and I actually get really sad when I see their cards with less stylized approaches. I agree with @tonysandlin that digital artwork looks way too perfect and flat. Himeno’s recent 2019 championship series card is a great example of an awesome concept/design (there’s so much detail!) that totally falls flat and boring because of the medium.
I’m keeping this thread open now that people have started posting again, but just a reminder that bumping threads with a last post of over two months ago without providing new information is against the rules. I’m honestly blown away that people are able to dig up threads from 2014…
