I would love a set that would bring back silver holo border on ultra rares similar to old ex and LV.X cards. And a dragon themed set. Yes we have had 2 of them already, Dragon Vault and Dragon Majesty, but neither of them really does it for me. It needs to be more majestic and have cosmo-holo pattern on holo cards, great artwork, mainly hand drawn. Set needs to include at least Rayquaza, Salamence, Flygon, Latias and Latios to make me happy
Also I agree with Milhouse, a new Delta Species themed set would be great.
They had their chance in the Sun & Moon era and didn’t grab it. Team Rocket plays such an important role in the anime. They sometimes provide a key role in S-M Ultra Legends for the team to catch the Ultra Bests. And Nintendo failed! What we got dull game mechanics instead of a cool Team Rocket set.
(And yes, they did the Ash vs Team Rocket half decks, but that’s just a Japan exclusive product)
I think the reason why they skipped an awesome third Team Rocket set is because they don’t want named cards any more. So now “Team Rocket’s Bewear” or “James’ Mareanie” or even ‘worse’ “Dark Mimikyu”. Pokemon has to be kid friendlyBesides me 100% supporting a Team Rocket set. I would love to see another Delta Species like set, or something like Double Crisis. But the latter, I am pretty sure they make a 200 card “”“”““limited print run””“”“” Hidden Legends set and totally ruin the experience of able to collect a small set with unique artwork.
I’d love to see a set based around Red and Blue where all artwork is lifted from the games. With all the pokemon and supporter card arts using the original sprites.
Also i’d adore some stadiums featuring the original, awkward gyms.
Not so much a set per se but a wish towards eliminating inconsistiencies without losing reverence is if the Ilustrator trophy kept happening along with it’s contests each generation as a series. The artist’s Tropical Wind to a minor extent.
Akin to a prevous topic made in highlighting how prereleases just stopped during 2nd Generation (despite the obvous management differences) afaik it seemed the Illustrator Winner trophy just stopped. However if winners from art related contests since then recieved any sort of equivalent outside of the winning card art printed in reality please feel free to make me less unaufgeklärt. What I would had done to had seen a Gen 2 Illustrator with Smeargle and the Neo Crescents in the corner…

Yeah, kinda disappointing that EX/GX/V cards are what we’ve been stuck with for like what, five years? And they’re all the same thing with different names. I guess Tag Teams were fairly unique, and I did like them. I wish they would have stuck around a little longer.
For the 25th I would love a Neo Genesis reprint, and a new team rocket set. I saw a post on IG about rumors of a neo genesis reprint but can’t recall who posted it.
I wish they made more crystal cards similar to the ones from Skyridge and Aquapolis. They were such beautiful cards. Crystal Raichu or crystal Rayquaza would be so cool.
Mine would be a revamp of the Neo sets with full art cards with more classic hand drawn artworks, something like the Scream series but will all Pokemon from Gen 1 and 2 + Shinings
I would really like a set of the first 251 pokemons.
All legends would be gold cards and the starter last evolutions would be hyper rares.
Others like pidgeot or poliwraths could be gx or full arts.
Every Pokemon has a card of all rarity levels ever used throughout the TCG history. You’d need to open almost 1800 boxes to get the gold star set alone if you were impossibly lucky enough to get none duplicated. Cut it with rusty blades for those who want a chase. 1st edition print numbers pegged to allow for 100 of each 1st edition gold star printed and the rest proportionately following.
