variants are always fun(until they overdo it, dear pokemon company please stop, I’m dying over here with S/V variants). Thankfully GO was a very small set. They also chose some of the better cards to do these variants for. And snorlax was usable for a while in decks so that kept prices a little high, and then snorlax is snorlax so I suspect that kept it on the higher end. So well done. I like the smug blissey.
I didn’t realize japanese went with a team rocket R for the reverse holos. Looks like I’m going for the japanese glory to team rocket set for the fun pattern!
just dawned on me that yeah this is like the OG holo pattern that they didn’t do in the rocket set even if the eeveelutions had been given holo in that set.
Yep, the “galaxy” holo pattern as some like to call it. Only featured in Base, Jungle and Fossil before being replaced by the cosmos holofoil we all know and love.
But then it made a surprise return in Legendary Collection, allowing you to get select cards from Team Rocket in the galaxy holofoil as well. I personally find them super cool for that reason.
I’m slightly embarrassed to say that I thought the L and I in Liam were a C and an L. I was very confused why you had him address the signature to Clam.
I’m a Charizard fan but when I saw the artwork for the Mega x promo I was indifferent to it. I just realized today you can get the UPCs at MSRP so decided to give it a try. I’ve done a complete 180 on this card after having it in hand. I actually love it. The colors and contrast are so vibrant. It gives me some punk rock graffiti vibes.
Was also able to snag a Butterfree for my Butterfree binder. First catch of 2026
As I was checking out the Eevee caught my eye. I was previously unaware of this card but had to have it for my artwork binder.
I pulled the lycanroc from one of the packs in the upc and found the artwork stunning. Another addition to the artwork binder. Pretty good day.
Got my Thai cards sent to me today. Missing 1 torchic, 4 combusken, 8 blaziken to be done with the language. Snorlax cameos and hardest Thai mudkip line cards (SCC) also picked up.
The one torchic is painful, middleman forgot about it and now the price on it is stupid. Will wait until the blaziken rotates out of competitive play at which point they should spawn for cheaper.
