It is glorious! Really well curated and also gives a glimpse on you as a collector. Pretty sure every card has a story and core memory behind it. Would really also see the frame display after you have built it.
You have truly been a wonderful friend and fellow collector to talk to. It is a bitter sweet feeling but I truly wish for you to find the joy and peace you want with regards to the hobby and what it means to you. I wish you nothing but happiness.
Aside from being the cosmos version of prerelease Aerodactyl, this Aerodactyl also has a double swirl, and you can see the weld line(?) cutting off an orb. This line indicates the beginning of a new foil sheet which allows 2 swirls on 1 card (I think… please correct this if wrong)
Since cosmos foil was released in sets with Base 2, a double swirl on a cosmos foil predating Base 2 was of slightly elevated interest to me
My normal Aerodactyl prerelease was mislabeled by cgc as the cosmos variant, so I’m happy to now have both the galaxy and cosmos versions in my small prerelease collection
Found this sealed and in minty condition, and I am OVER THE MOON RN! I found this and just outright asked my grandma for it to be the ONLY gift she gets me for christmas, and she accepted! It’s super hard to find one in mint condition and I haven’t found much sales of it (there probably are more though)! For now, I am content!
Similar to what I shared on 12/8, that booklet was released around 1996–1997 and it was one of the first full beginner guides ever printed. Bright, colorful, magazine style instructional book.
Today I’m sharing an exciting purchase. This is a simple monochrome rulebook for kids learning the basics. It was released in 1999-2000 and was packaged with beginner decks & used in teaching events
Both are official, but they served different teaching purposes and were printed in different eras.
I THINK this was illustrated by Kagemaru Himeno as well, but I can’t find any information on that. But anyways, I’m very excited to frame both!
This is awesome! Is the cover a special plate with the holo pattern applied already? Separately, I recently learned that you could add holo patterns to just about anything in theory… (here’s someone making holo food haha: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/alHz1fX120U).
