Hello everyone,

This post serves to educate people on the many variants of Fossil Aerodactyl 15/62. I have seen a lot of confusion/mislabeling surrounding the variants of this card so I hope that this guide can set that straight for everyone.

There are a total of five variants of this card, outlined below.

1st Edition Aerodactyl

1st Edition Aerodactyl - PRERELEASE
Note: There is a PRERELEASE stamp on the bottom right of the card

1st Edition Aerodactyl - PRERELEASE Cosmos Holo
Note: There is a PRERELEASE stamp on the bottom right of the card, and the card has a Cosmos holofoil pattern instead of the traditional Galaxy holofoil pattern.

Aerodactyl - WOTC Employees Only
Note: This card has a Cosmos holofoil pattern instead of the standard Galaxy pattern. This card was only given out to WOTC Employees at the time of its release.

There are non-holo versions of the 1st and Unlimited, but not the others as well.

I think most people use Brown and Gold stamp as the way to differentiate as well.

Are you sure you’re not confusing that with Aerodactyl 16/62? This guide is about Aerodactyl 1/62
