I never knew thick and thin stamp were a different variation. Isn’t that more of a preference opposed to a variation. When was this established? In that case wouldn’t grey stamps come into play as well?
I wouldn’t call them a variation. They are unique in their own right and have appeal to collectors but at the end of the day, I still consider them base 1st ed cards.
My main goal is to finish my skyridge reverse holo set, try and complete a 1st edition neo destiny set, and continue adding to my sealed collection! It’s going to be a wild ride
hay there i do not know if everyone else takes them a different variation i do a i know gemmintpokemon does as well i regards to the grey stamp i find that more to do with less ink in the machine rather and WOTC actually changing the style of the stamp where as if they actually wanted a grey stamp version i would need to get that, but as it wasn’t a change made by WOTC and rather the machine just not using enough ink pressing down. thats the difference to me,
its why i class the stamps changes two separate sets and not the grey stamp .
I have 10 cards left to finish my 1st edition base PSA 9/10 mix set (the most expensive of which is Lass). I’m purposely drawing out the process because I actually like feeling like I’m not quite finished.
Otherwise, I’m planning on just continuing to collect random other cards based on art that I like (particularly Japanese promos) without regard to completing any particular sets.
I just found and bought a 2018 panini prizm fast break neon jerry west 5 of 5 card. It was one of my 2019 collection goals. Only 5 exist. Bad ass card. Im pumped. Somebody better look out.
Oh the greed! Only 5 of them and you just HAVE to have one of them! Think of all the homeless kids who can’t have this card now that you have it! The greed of people
First off, I wasnt just name calling, I was defending myself from other people attacking me. Second of all you need to advertise that this is a pokemon forum, I couldnt even tell until someone told me. This will be my last post so dont worry. And finally the worlds problems need to be addressed time to time, instead of turning away from them. All I was trying to do was get people to care more about each other, instead of about themselves.
I hope someday you can see something else in this world besides pokemon. I have collected cards for over 25 years, but I give a damn about people that are hopeless in this world. People that are homeless, people that sleep under bridges in 20 degree weather, people that are suffering. Mabye someday some of you will be in a situation when you need someones help in a SERIOUS situation. Then you will know what its like.
Actually I take that back, I hope none of you are ever in a SERIOUS situation. I could never wish that on anyone. I apologize. This will be my last post. Take care.
I just gave a bunch of cards to a homeless person. Checked up on them, they’re still homeless. Cards aparently aren’t good houses, who knew.
Giving people things doesn’t improve their lives. The documentary Reversal of Fortune, the countless instances of people winning the lottery and ending up right where they were in the beginning, as well as many other examples prove this. Being rich isn’t about having a bunch of money, it’s about having the mindset/lifestyle to keep your money.
It’s a Toltec wisdom book written by Don Miguel Ruiz who is a modern day Toltec spiritualist. The book outlines and details four basic pieces of wisdom, which Ruiz explains is a path to personal freedom.
The main premise is that we are all essentially dreaming and all living together in the world dream and when we are born we get hooked into the dream and believe things about the world and about ourselves. Many of these beliefs are false and are simply a result of what our parents or society teach us. We might be told we are stupid when we are young and so we live our entire lives believing this even if it’s not even remotely true. This can lead to an immense amount of strife and discomfort especially if these false beliefs or assumptions are contrary to who we truly are as unique individuals.
Following and using the four agreements everyday, we can wield these simple pieces of wisdom to attain true personal freedom by clearing what he calls emotional poison from our minds.
The Four Agreements are:
–Be Impeccable with your word
–Don’t make assumptions
–Don’t take things personally
–Always try your best
FWIW, this is at least in the top 2 or 3 and likely the most important book I’ve ever read. It’s an incredibly quick read (160 short pages, very easy to read and understand).
I recommended it to @huckleberry because I sensed he is suffering from a lack of these agreements and so many of his statements are full of assumptions and he’s certainly not being careful with the words he’s choosing. This book can be transformational especially for those who are stuck in these emotional whirlwinds. And huckleberry, I say all of this lovingly. You seem to care a lot, but you ought to seriously consider taking a different approach to how you communicate with others.
I’d like to complete a binder set of the Japanese VS Set. I’ve always liked the theme of it, how each gym leader has a few pokemon and the ordering of the cards takes you chronologically through the story of Gold & Silver
