Wow! Such a shame these beauties were never printed as GB promos
Yeah… absolutely. Having such Sugimori trio could have been awesome.
Yes they were never released, mine are proxies
Screaming, crying, throwing up looking at those e-reader demo cards that I’ll never see again, let alone own.
I learn something new every day
Some additional photos of the sample lots and other miscellaneous “interesting bits” are posted in Quuador’s thread over here too
EDIT: one of the Pikachu’s even has its own Bulbapedia page: Pikachu (Sample Set 2) - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia (bulbagarden.net)
And there is a more generic Sample Set page here too, likely with others that were not “officially released” to the public: Sample Set (TCG) - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia (bulbagarden.net)
These ones are probably pretty well known. Again, it depends on your definition of “released” here in whether or not they qualify
We had a pretty similar thread last year: What is the most unknown and unique card you know about?
To quote my own post:

Is there a full picture of the sheet? Are there holo 1st ed unlimited?
What is going on in that Ishihara EX box? I’ve never heard of it!
Man that doug ferguson gx card is cursed.
What is the error on the Venusaur/Magneton? Sometimes I am so accustomed to what the card is supposed to look like that my eyes glaze over possible differences.
They were printed without a holo layer. They are the non-holo holo rares from Base Set.
@Dyl beat me to it while I was typing, but they’re both non-holo errors, just like the Clefairy and Base Set 2 Charizard below it.
Greetz,
Quuador
Imagine encapsulating a clearly non-holo card in a label stating “Holo”…
Or even better, “Holo (non-holo)”
I checked my trusty rare Pokemon photo storage device again but I couldn’t find a photo of the full sheet but iirc, no holos were shown off.
Do the cards created for the GBC games count? A couple of them were already posted in here (the Eevee trio and the birds) but here’s the rest.
