So this might be kind of a boring one, but I finally bought my 1st ever iPhone recently, the base model iPhone 16. My carrier was having a pretty sweet deal for being a long-term customer and I was able to double my data plan + reduce my monthly bill.
I’ve been an Android guy literally forever, but I have to say I’m enjoying the change so far. It definitely feels a little more ‘restricted’ than Android, but I come to realize I only use my phone for fairly minimal purposes at this point, and this one does everything I’ll ever need. In addition, I was actually happy to ‘downgrade’ to a smaller 6.1” screen so I’m not carrying around such a brick anymore. Last but not least, knowing I’ll get much longer-term security updates is re-assuring as well :
My first ever MTG cards. Awkwardly shoehorned into a Pokemon binder atm, but if they put out enough cool collabs (I understand this is a contentious point in Magic) I could see myself slowly making a binder over time.
Another digimon promo package has arrived via buyee!
This is a folder released in 2022 celebrating the 25th anniversary of digimon that has 12 alt art cards from various sets showcasing characters from the original V-pet
Two of them are illustrated by Kagemaru Himeno, and two are by Kenji Watanabe who is one of the original character designers
Had a hefty buyee haul which included a beautiful Persona 5 official art book and 2 KH cards. The cards are definitely PSA 10 candidates too which is awesome!
So true, I am now half tempted to buy another copy so I can cut out pages to put on my epson scanner. The pages in it would make for some epic card backdrops!
Just picked up my first SMT game. I’ve always heard a lot about this series, but never sat down and played one to completion. I have played a couple Persona games and have often heard the SMT games are superior in gameplay, but not quite as deep on the story & characters.
Anyway, I know nothing about this one and I am going in mostly blind aside from playing the demo which I enjoyed. The sale discount was pretty good, I feel like I’ll get my money worth. So far I really like the idea of the creature/demon collecting combined with a post-apocalyptic world/setting and having 2 campaigns to choose from (as far as I can tell). Looking forward to playing this over the Fall/Winter months for sure.
As a huge SMT fan, I really liked Vengeance. It’s less of a dungeon crawler than the classic entries, but the overworld design still has plenty of intricacies and side areas to explore.
If you’ve played Persona you’ll recognize a lot of similar demon designs. The turn-based battle system is similar with the key difference being if you hit a weakness you don’t get to go again, rather only half a turn is used. If you hit an immunity then you lose double the turns. Definitely a good entry point into the franchise!
