Pokemon Japanese Design Contest Promos (2009 & 2010)
The older design contests held in Japan were so unique and creative, what makes these particularly stand out is any child could enter from their age division and they didn’t have to be a professional digital artist to have a chance at winning unlike today with the latest contests.
Being non holo allows you to appreciate all of the artwork and with the rainbow gold foiled stamp it makes them pop. From the design of the artworks, the history of the contest itself and to top it off the rarity aspect as well, they are easily my favourite sets.

Surprisingly shocked that this set is not hot, considering it got the 4 gen one starters, Mewtwo and Mew!
*Didn’t get the Mew card from this set though as I dislike the artwork. I can draw Mew better than that!

They are such great cards! I got to open some of these packs as a kid, but for some reason I ended up with like 3 copies of the Slowpoke and Larvitar and nothing else.
