What are some promo cards you have/want in your collection that you think are underappreciated?

Hi,
so getting back in my collection i see a lot of promos specially japanese only special artwork not being appreciated or talked about but are being rare example is IMO the all nippon ana promos

the japanese pokemon center tokyo and osaka ones though the english NY one is overrated IMO

misty’s treatment is one i got after i wanted it for a long time that i think is underrated as well as the slowpoke play matt and mewtwo fan book version

so what are some promos you have or want in your collection that you think is underrated or almost not spoken about ?

Unfindable slowpoke

ANA, Natta Wakke, JR Rally, Trainer’s Magazine. Basically anything non-holo with exclusive JP artwork tied to a collaboration or time-sensitive purchase.

I know they’re common, cheap and available in English.
But they’re so overlooked, considering that the holo improves their artworks a lot.
So, for a few dollars, why don’t you enjoy some Kimura masterpieces in their premium version?

can you show a photo ? love slowpoke

i agree although the natta wake birthday pikachu goes for insane prices now on ebay and i love mt fuji pikachu which is quite rare as well

Yeah, the birthday Pika is an exception but it’s more for the fact that it’s Pikachu and an alternate art of a well-known English promo and not because of the Natta Wake distribution.

also agree though there are some pikachu cards less known or appreciated i rarely see mt fuji pikachu graded on ebay and psa 8 starts from the 470-500$ mark.
the meowth and pikachu pokemon osaka and tokyo center is really underrated compared to that pkmn center NY black star even though i prefer the japanese e reader artwork more

I know Exploud is not the most popular mon in the world, but this card is sick! Trainers magazine, full evolution line as well, Imakuni card, one of the first ex cards. Its such a good promo

@droripory - I edited your title to reflect your question a bit better. If you want me to change it back(because I did it without asking) then let me know!

For me it’s the Yuka Morii Pokemon Center promo cards. 2008-2009 the Kanto starters all got one, and Pikachu got 5 (same figurine but taken from different angles and with the 5 different Pokemon Centers at the time in the background - Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya & Fukuoka). Treeko also got one from her in 2005.

*edit: took me a few years but I’m very happy I have them

yes the middle evo ones are less known though the eeveeloutions are well known and go for a lot though at auctions i dont know how im feeling about japanese but i guess im happy people are still stupid to not appreciate them so we can get them for quite affordable prices putting aside fan club promos ofc

The Japanese Tokyo & Osaka both came sealed with a coin. Both cards were notorious for indents on the back from the coin even though they were sealed. Most of the raw cards you see today are somewhat affordable because of the indents on the back and other damage. If you’re into grading, there’s less than 50 each in PSA 10.

yup saw your posts from some time ago. im not hardcore to go only for psa 10’s. 8 and 9’s will suffice and are rare as well i think they are rarer print wise than the NY black star promo but that is my guess and their limited giveaway according to bulbapedia i did find a psa 8 and 9 ones just dont show them yet so no one snags them :stuck_out_tongue: but soon 1-2 days ill get em
