Even I can admit it. Lucario is overhyped and heavily overrepresented in the Pokémon TCG, anime, and games.

Never did see this one coming as well. Gengar even featured on a pro tennis-player´s bag at Roland Garos last year. It´s a good design, but maybe nog this good.

i’m mainly talking as whole how it stagnated the innovation in the games in general.
like why did it take until ZA for Kalos Starters to get Megas in their own region when they could of been originally in XY in the first place. Instead ofc a bunch of Kanto mons got Megas instead a bunch of Gen 6 pokemon.
Regional forms being all Kanto first for no reason when they could of just used the concept between the last 6 generations of Pokemon.
Leon ace literally being charizard cause everything needs to go through Kanto for new gimmicks now apparently.
atp the region isnt even special anymore its just boring to see and cleary something holding them from taking risks anymore.

Jigglypuff. They put it in smash bros. Represented heavily in the anime is the only reason I think it ever got popular at all. Its just a pink orb creature. The only space for a pink orb creature in my heart is the space alien known as Kirby. The cute little lovecraftian nightmare.
Every single human shaped furry bait pokemon. Which there are now too many of. They didn’t even try to give zeraora a back story. They just dropped it like “eh here is pikacario I guess”.
Simisear. Why does pokemon company love it so much? This isn’t fans overhyping it, the pokemon company themselves seem to love it a little more than it seems to deserve. Meanwhile the other simis don’t get equal attention. I just want it to be equally hyped with its siblings.
These are just only somewhat overhyped. IMO. Some things are very overhyped so I avoided those obvious ones like lizard-donald and such.

Any Pokémon with a card that is worth 5-6 figures that I don’t own. Then it’s overhyped.
If I own said expensive card of a Pokémon then it’s underrated and needs more exposure.
