So back in the day when I originally started collecting the cards I also felt compelled to pick up a few other things that were niche. I am wondering if the collecting of the cards bug spread to other items pokemon related. I manged to pick up a few other items i thought were cool at the time and include the Blockbuster snap cards, pokemon beanie bears and stamps to name a few. Post some of the niche things that you collected while collecting the cards. Here is a few of mine
As a kid and when I returned collecting back in 2015, I only collect TCG cards.
It wasn’t until ~2018 that I bought some random non-TCG items every now and then, mostly for Seviper (and the full Bandai Carddass set).
To quote myself from my collection thread regarding the start of the non-TCG Seviper items:
Nowadays I collect anything and everything[1] Seviper, both TCG and non-TCG. For TCG this means every single language and variation; and for non-TCG, this means every card; sticker; pog/tazo; poster; DVD cover; figure; plushy; etc. etc. I even have a cushion and bedsheets.
My entire non-TCG Seviper collection (minus some recent additions) can be found here:

Unless it’s an item displaying the entire gen 3, or multiple gens ↩︎
I’ve been collection Pokémon games since like 2010-2011. Early on I collected mostly EUR copies since I live in Sweden, but in 2020 I started collecting the US and JP versions as well. I have the GC games and the pre-order bonus discs, some distribution cartridges, a Pokémon Gold demo cartridge and a really rare GBA bundle among other things. Not as niche as some of the items in your collection, but it is at least non-tcg
I’ll get some pictures and update this post later!
Mainly Pokémon video games. However, I reached my main goal last year and have every game from Gen I to IV. Gen V I am just missing Black 2, which is basically my last real goal I have (at least Pokémon wise, I am still missing some non-Pokémon games).
I also have plenty of those games in Japanese (a lot of them CIB), but I just pick those up when I find them in Japan for a good deal. Maybe I will try to work on this collection when I am back in Japan.
Apart from that I have some other Pokémon related stuff like sleeves, chopsticks, plushies, … but I am not really focusing on collecting those and just pick them up when I find something that I find interesting.
I’ve loved non-TCG since the start simply out of luck. We didn’t have many card or game shops where I lived but our favorite one got imports from Japan. Not only did we get Japanese tcg packs, we also got toys, postcards, and stickers just to name a few things amongst the plethora of joy.
My collection started to explode when I joined E4 in 2014 since folks exposed me to more resources. Some of my favorite items are New Year and Children’s Day related:
I don’t really have the time and energy to expand my collection at the moment, but I love vintage Pokemon stamps and postcards.
But you must feel completely hollow inside without what would clearly be the ultimate pieces of your Seviper collection: the Seviper-cameo men’s and women’s boxers.
Funny you’d say that, since I have the (thankfully new/sealed) Look Upon The Stars women’s boxers currently incoming. Bought them yesterday on YJ.

I spent the recent market boom collecting a broad array of non-tcg items. There’s some really amazing stuff out there that some people would love if they knew it existed. Lots of junk too, but you know
Here’s some junk I have love for since they were at my grandma’s house growing up
And some UK Burger King mini game boys, a set I’m trying to finish up soon (US and UK exclusive).
There was a time when you can’t select languages in games, so multi-language enthusiasts would do something like this.
I like collecting old saved data in a way. At first I was buying cartridges just to play games I hadn’t played before but for some reason I like seeing where someone left off and finishing the game with their character and team.
I keep a gameboy in my truck. Whenever I come across a cartridge I throw it in and boot it up. Sellers think I’m just verifying that it works but I’m really just looking for an interesting save file to complete.
So far the most interesting one I’ve found is blue version, "Pablo Escobar’ with six geodudes who gave up in vermilion city.
Finally started opening the boxes I slacked on unpacking after moving and found these:
Gamers may be familiar with the Pokémon distributions associated with the latest movie titles coming out in Japan. These are the instruction booklets on how to get your game ready for receiving the distributions (setup Mystery Gift, etc.). You receive these either when you purchase the tickets or in the theaters where you watch the movie.
There are more lying around in the box I opened besides the ones I posted above. Maybe I should spend some time going through them and see if I’m missing from any of the movies since it seems that I already got a huge part of them.
I pretty heavily collect anything Pokémon Center New York related. Always on the hunt and constantly discovering new items that were sold there that have never been seen before. It is a ton of fun and I have become obsessed with finding these items.
It represents an amazing time for Pokemon and it was the first and only time a Pokemon Center was ever in the US. I love looking at these items just as much as my card collection! Here are a few photos I had on my phone.
