I am an opportunist. I am not in a position to take part of my income and dedicate it towards collecting. Therefore I have to make money while collecting. It is pretty easy to flip local deals and make money, but I have had to learn to part with cards that I really like. This aspect really sucks, but I try to put my favorite cards on my instagram and it is still nice to be able to look back and see all the cool things I’ve been able to snag. Luckily, I recently came up on an amazing find and I think I may be able to keep a first edition shadowless zard! This is my absolute favorite card and I’m hoping to put my foot down and keep it forever.

from the posts of yours that I’ve seen, it seems like you’ve had quite the colorful life and experiences. Are pokemon cards the favorite thing that you collect?

My binder sets are my main focus right now. Just a few cards away from completing Base thru Neo (minus the Shinings) in Japanese, then moving on to WOTC unlimited Base thru Neo. I also have a small but growing collection of PSA cards, though I’ll admit I’m a bit picky when it comes to these. I’d rather have mint, raw cards from packs I open myself. I also like collecting sealed promos, WOTC black star promos (this set is near complete), older Japanese promos, WOTC theme decks, and the occasional miscut/error card.

Cards featuring the gen 1 leaders in the physical art (not ____'s Pokemon) and Team Rocket themed cards. Been branching out into collecting Mewtwo’s as well.

I collect little bit of everything, mostly japanese cards thought. My only actual goal atm is to collect all japanese oldschool ex cards in PSA 10, which is progressing quite well

I can safely say yes. Normally your favorite would be what most reminds you of your childhood. The memories, the nostalgia.
For me it’s what mostly reminds me of my sons childhood. I was in the Pokemon business…Pokemon was their world. They didn’t fall into my business but I did fall into their world.
I can’t look at a Charizard without seeing their little faces:)

I collect only 3 cards, 2 of which I still don’t have in PSA 10. They are:

1st Ed Base Charizard
Shadowless Charizard
Hyper Rare/Rainbow Rare Charizard (PSA 10 only)

Any other card I have I either see as an investment (PSA 10 1st,shadowless holos), or a possible means to one of the two PSA 10 cards that I’m trying to add to my collection.

For me i am attempting to collect all japanese cards featuring shiny Pokemon as mt primary focus and also have slowly been completing the full 1st ed base set graded 8 or higher as a side project. I still have a long way to go as some of the cards im looking for come up so rarely its simply a case of being ready when they do.

I like to collect alot of different things. For me nostalgia is a massive factor.
Anything, cutesey, rare, obscure, or looks cool to display I try and keep for my collection.

Whatever I think is cool. Haha.

I try and keep a nice theme going as well when displaying, so certain Pokemon in one section, or a jungle area, water area. Etc

I started back getting into collecting Pokemon last January 2018. Since then, I have completed every 1st edition set from Base set to Neo Destiny in NM-Mint condition. I am now moving on to complete all 4 variations of the base set starting with the UK 1999-2000 print to shadowless and then unlimited. Building the sets has been a blast for me as I feel like I am picking up from where I left off as a kid in 2004 and getting to assemble the sets that I grew up with especially with the 1st edition stamp has been the most fun I have had with a hobby.

All Japanese up through end of e-series in binders for me. I’m about 395 cards away from completing it, apart from crazy unobtainable stuff like snap promos and trophies.

I honestly don’t know yet, I got back into collecting 15 or so months ago. Back then opening new product and going through the 50 cards I already owned helped me through a rough time, it felt like a whole universe to jump into. That’s what Hobbies should be, after all.
I pretty much continued to buy what I liked since then, leaning towards japanese (old holos, promos of any kind) and the occasional Litwick-evolution line.
BW was my second game-generation and my Chandelure was lit

I got two binders, “old” and “new, promos”. I’m not into finishing sets, the closest thing I will collect are all PSA 1st ed. German base holos. Those holos and some cards I really liked (hint profile picture hint) are currently on their way to/at PSA, thanks to Ludkins.

I collect what I like, I don’t care if its a $1 card or a $100 card. Now the unfortunate part is some of the cards that I like are $$$. Here are some of my cards.

Fortunately I’ve been able to get most of the things I’ve gone after, collection wise. My one regret is losing an auction years ago for a Beatles “Anna” 45rpm. It was one of those cases where I thought I bid plenty enough, well over market I thought, but still came in second. Now, when they appear, they’re out of sight.

I’m a global collector. I love trying to get all the language and regional variants of cards and anime. Pokemon is currently my side hobby, I spend most of my time and money searching for either unique or rare anime related items. Just some photos of a piece of my collection
