Diamond & Pearl because I grew up with it as well as any prize card as well as every alt Art / illustration rare. I’m not a huge fan of wotc except for neo

90% Old school promos, specially Japanese and some random modern promos which tickle my fancy.

Promo cards because all my childhood i felt unnoticed and pushed aside. I always wanted to stand out and be noticed. Promo cards capture that for me. They are made with the intent to stand out, to promote, it felt right once i started and now i love it.

Depends what you mean and if you are only talking pokemon. In strictest sense of collecting where I will catalogue the collection and keep track of every bit of it while looking out for missing items to add to the collection, it would be my deck collection. In the loosest sense, all english sets I guess.

Why? Because nostalgia and memories for playing the theme decks, and that turned into wanting all that I could find when i came back to pokemon, and that turned into wanting them all, and that turned into keeping up with them while looking for all variants.

Modern because nearly every release of the last year has about 15 new surprises to choose from

WOTC English cards. That’s what me and my friends collected as children.

I decided to limit myself to that era to keep my collection manageable and so that I didn’t feel overwhelmed needing to keep up with every new set release.

I also don’t go out of my way to collect missprints as those are almost endless and that would stress me out trying to get them all.

Mostly Base-Diamond and Pearl era because that’s what I was going for as a kid. I have some modern cards too but it’s definitely not my priority right now.

oh as for why, because it keeps me preoccupied and i enjoy sharing the cycle of new cards coming out and enjoying them together with everyone else here

Pokémon Card Trainers Magazines … They’re extremely interesting and a material I use for researches …

Also e-Cards because of their use with Nintendo e-Reader. That’s why I prefer Non Holo in the case of the cards from this era … Also because of the artwork!!!

This is the reason i fell in love with vaporeon. When he used acid armor and dissappeared :open_mouth: i was so underwhelmed as a kid when i saw the animation in pokemon gold and silver.

Pretty much all Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokemon from WOTC to current sets.

  • All WOTC sets + promos (still need a few Legendary reverse holos)
  • Gen 1 and 2 JPN sets that didn’t have English variants (Pocket Monsters Carddass, VS Set, Vending Series Sets)
  • Unnumbered JPN promos that didn’t have English variants
  • Gen 3 sets that had primarily Gen 1/2 Pokemon (FireRed LeafGreen, Team Rocket Returns, Unseen Forces, Dragon Frontiers, Delta Species, Holon Phantoms).
  • Gen 3 holos of all Gen 1/2 Pokemon
  • All holos from the HeartGold SoulSilver sets
  • Gen 1/2 Full Arts from XY - Current Sets
  • All Black Star Promos of Gen 1/2 Pokemon (WOTC - Current)
  • All Stadium cards
  • Master collector of all Gyarados, Dragonite, and Blastoise cards
  • Random JPN exclusives promos & holos
