without a doubt my grail would be a PSA 10 Southern Islands Togepi, I’m not even a huge condition guy. 9’s are fine by me for the most part, but the fact that the Southern Islands holos are so hard to grade 10s makes this a true grail for me haha

Thank you for sharing this. I had a similar experience during DP where I had no DS nor a GBC, so I was stuck with Ruby on GBA. As you said, a special place in one’s heart. It really is a great game.
Gosh Pokemon has such a rich history.
and I agree on TRR Dragonite. One of my goals is to obtain a reverse in PSA 9 by the end of the year.

Nice! I’m in a similar place but my nostalgia really hits in the legendaries even though I made a point not to use them in game cause I thought they were cheap. I love the starters too in gen 3 and think they are the best set we’ve got, but really mudkip is all that hits for me.
I guess my goal would be the 3 legendary gold stars if I think about it

1st Ed Blastoise which is an achievable goal, so in terms of lottery win style grail I’ll go for Snap Squirtle
It’s incredible how a single game, show, book, movie, place, etc. can tie you to a hobby or memory for decades. There are movies that I watched as a child that bring me back to simpler times each time that I rewatch them. However, the neat thing is that I always find something new or relate to it differently each time in the current stage of my life.

Oh, I had no shame at all. Rayquaza and Kyogre were some of my most played Pokemon near the end of each run. I just loved them and their power too much.

That’s why I like pseudo legends better than most legends. Just because I actually thought it was acceptable to use them
