On a more positive note, this is my favorite card:

Gifted to me by the amazing TheCharizardAuthority a.k.a Rusty a.k.a The English PokeZeus, we have here the crown jewel of my collection. One of very few pieces to survive The Great Sell-Off of 2014, it remains in its toploader, shining in the darkness of my closet.

When the Illustrator moved in, many of the residents of my closet thought he was the new king of the castle. But no, Mr. Metal Jumbo and I both knew very well that the Illustrator’s stay was only temporary, for the Illustrator is not someone you settle down with, no. The Illustrator is like that dangerous nomad that appears from nowhere, draws you in with his intrigue, and flips your life upside-down, only to blow away like the wind and leave you alone to deal with its aftermath.

I have made a promise to this card - you could say a pact, or a marriage vow. It is as follows:
I, Daelum, do solemnly swear that in no case nor circumstance, shall I rid of my possession, Sir Metal Jumbo of the Uncut Lands from the Era of the great WoTC testing, or Mr. Metal Jumbo for short. Neither rags nor riches, here nor there, death nor life, shall ever serve as a just cause for us to be separated for a period longer than a short while whilst maintaining a return unbeknownst to the both of us. In the event that we shall part indefinitely, the immediate action of 切腹 (Seppuku - Japanese ritual suicide) shall be taken due to overwhelming amounts of dishonor and shame.

What happened with darkpersian?

Read back in the thread a bit.

Basically, he came through and tried to scam a bunch of people with fake cards, and actually ended up scamming footballjulian pretty bad. Darkpersian was, and I’m sure still is, a very despicable, nasty person.

Not sure on the price but I would assume my expensive card. I have a base set charizard, fresh from a pack to case, with a print error on it. It has a perfect white dot printed right on the lettering. Came out of this way from a sealed base set booster pack. Can’t find an official price though haha. Other than that probably my shadowless cards.

Could you post a picture of it? It might be a printing defect rather than an error. (Cards with printing defects are generally worth less than their counterparts that don’t have defects.)

I buy/sell a lot of cards but I am no expert on values on some of the one off stuff - I figured after reading this post one of you guys could help me. Now, I have zero intention of ever selling this card considering I remember the place and moment where I got it (with my late grandfather, pulled it from a Team Rocket Pack in the Learning Express parking lot) so unless it’s worth a $100k I’ll go with me to my grave

This was pulled from the pack this way, I used to call it ‘Spiderweb Dark Charizard’ but in reality looking back it was probably just melted somehow or something, no clue. Maybe I should start another thread asking about it? Anyone else ever see this happen to a card? Print error?

Agreed - I still can’t put my finger on what could have cause that! You can’t even tell from the back side - so it’s not some bend or indentation in the card. Very strange.

Seems like the perfect candidate - no one can tell me what the heck happened to it!

The more I try to figure it out - it’s not likely that it melted or cracked or anything like that while in the booster because holos aren’t ever the first or last card in the pack. There’s also no damage anywhere on the card and from what I remember, the booster was the same as every other Team Rocket I’ve bought (not damaged or anything, I would have noticed/remembered that). So that leads me to think it has to be a factory error somewhere - but where? It can’t possibly be the only one with over a billion cards printed by WoTC.

The placement is pretty cool too which is why I used to call it spiderweb Charizard - its only on the photo without really spilling over and on both sides of the tail. Hadn’t thought about the card for years but the more I think about it now, it really is odd.
