Can’t people just buy from the PokemonCenter website itself instead of LGS? just wondering, what’s your thoughts?
PokemonCenter sells at MSRP (~$144 per box). For some boxes, that would be a good deal. But for other sets, that would be much more expensive than what is available on TCGPlayer or eBay.
Also, PokemonCenter does not keep every set in stock.
If I know that Chilling Rein demand will be steady if not increase down the line, getting it 144 is better than not getting it at all Here in UK, most booster boxes are available in PC except older ones and ES ofc.
why buy it at $144 when ebay has it under $120?
the best booster box to buy on pokemoncenter is brilliant stars. its selling for ~$180 on ebay/tcgplayer but you can get it at msrp on pc for $144
similar thing happened to evolving skies
And hype tubers will keep hyping it up even though it’s in stock at PC.
How much can they really earn with only a few thousand subs if that?
So cringe.
here is a Checklist: Created Alternate Art Check off List (PDF)
In my LGS, once I witnessed a mother with a child. The child asked his mother to buy the last set (Lost origin at the time). She asked what was the product available. The shop owner said a booster box at $150 and a collection box for $22 for a 3 pack blisters…which as we know is outrageously expensive even for the 3 pack blisters.
The mother without hesitation picked the 3 pack blister and the kid was so happy, seeing the promo and the packs inside.
Regarding availability of booster boxes, indeed I’m surprised not seeing any reprints of the latest set especially that they have not had any major print waves: Brilliant stars, Astral Radiance, Lost Origin and Silver tempest or maybe they did:
For sure they will reprint them or as the story suggested, maybe they diluted boosters through collection boxes or 3 pack blisters and made them available through big retail stores (in high volume) instead of going through the route of multiple middle men (Distributors, LGS, resellers) that end up inflating prices along the way or hoarding a percentage of those products .
Maybe this bring to reflection the overall distribution model afterall.
I put a few things together a few months ago.
First 3-4 sets of almost every era lately usually are meh sets
All sets are going to be $110-$115 a box out the gate for every set going forward. Including the dud sets. Pokemon center booster boxes will be $150 plus
What does that mean when you compare a brand new dud set to one of these recent great sets? A increase across the board for every good set.
Word on the street is there is zero supply for booster boxes. Game stores can’t even get a hold of them for good prices. Now you never know a reprint could come but it’s starting to get doubtful with the focus going to be on crown Zenith and Scarlet and Violet.
Disclaimer I do own a good amount of Silver Tempest, Lost Origin, Fusion Strike, and Brilliant Stars. (I did decide to accept trades for alt arts or sell a little to fund a mini collection because I really love them)
I know the thread is about Chilling Reign but it’s pretty much going across the board right now.
Why do people seem to hate those 2022 stacking tin things? Some have good sets in them like evolving skies and the tins are cheap as dirt still. Am i missing something
I don’t think any of the stacking tins have evolving skies pack.
Also hype tubers are running out of content ideas, let’s hype up chilling reign.
All the videos i watched show es cr and vv
dw, chilling reign will make there way in there.
They seem to have trash pulls but that could just be modern
I don’t like the look of the them. They look like knockoff Pokémon tins to me. The Pokémon featured have no relation to the packs inside and appear to be randomly chosen. Theres no promo included either, which is eye candy for kids (at least it was to me growing up buying DPP tins.
Im really not sure if this will happen, but it would probably be good if it did. SwSh has been a rollercoaster and to think we are going into ScVi and theres STILL supply issues is bothersome. English modern gives me the ick but Japanese has been difficult too. Many boxes have been over $100 for time. Modern desparately needs a tidal wave of supply and im just not sure if thats gonna happen rn.
This is great. Any plans to update this with the Silver Tempest alts? Or are you waiting for Crown Zenith to make it comprehensive for SWSH?
Oh yes, it has been already in the works. I am waiting on Crown Z to release their specific card numbers and I will release a much needed update. Also just a little insider info for you:
I may or may not have put together a full comprehensive list just like this one for “Alt Arts Pre-Battle Styles”
Doing the lord’s work! I would love a CSR/CR list as well, but that’s a little less straightforward in English with the TG’s. I’ll be following closely for your expert pdf’s
