What Do You Do for Fun Outside Pokemon?

When I was in college I used to watch quite a lot movies. Mostly one per day, and ironically enough three per day in exam periods… But know I dont watch that many and I dedicate more time to TV series.

Any movie recomendation that you have seen this year?

I walk between 6 and 10 miles every day, rain or shine. It allows me to clear my mind and stay in shape, and I’m constantly discovering delightful new things — cool neighborhoods, quirky architecture, hole-in-the-wall restaurants — in a place where I’ve lived nearly three decades.

Building star wars lego sets, Gym, video games, playing ice hockey, watching movies, Tae Kwon Doe (almost red belt), acting classes, and going to Buffalo Sabres games (season tickets) . I also goto college but thats not what I like to do for fun. My week gets packed so it’s hard to get together with friends sometimes. Collecting Pokemon cards will always be my favorite hobby though.

I love watching spoof/comedy shows like Cuomo Primetime and Morning Joe. Plus I love Horror shows like The View which is so sickening it could gag a maggot;)

I draw, write, sing, do photography, do woodworking/DIY, garden, and keep aquariums. At least those are my biggest hobbies aside from Pokemon at the moment - I’m always trying new things

It’s been cool seeing what everyone is in to! A picture is worth 1000 words as they say so I’ve provided several!

I do alot of skateboarding. (hence my profile picture!)

I’m a biker as well. Early spring through early fall you can usually catch me on my harley.

I do alot of welding. I do custom exhaust on every vehicle/internal combustion engine I have to make it as loud as possible. I weld and create all kinds of stuff but welding exhaust is my favorite thing to weld, fabricating an exhaust system is actually quite a challenge and hearing that first start up is super awesome and rewarding. Heres my lawnmower that got a full exhaust just recently!

I’m into old cars. I do alottt of cruising around in my 66 dodge polara.

I just got my first tractor! So I’m super excited to begin tinkering around on and restoring this thing. It’s a 1946 farmall A (the sticker is incorrect, it’s not a cub)

I’ve got 4 vehicles, 1 motorcycle, 1 tractor, and 5 lawnmowers. So I spend alot of time fixing and maintenancing them all. I do all my own repairs.

I’m an avid free section of craigslist and marketplace browser. If it’s not complete trash and isnt too far away, I’m getting it. I’ve gotten to go alot of cool places and meet alot of cool people doing this! I cant begin to list all the random items I’ve acquired that sit in my yard but heres a couple things I’m quite proud of! All free!

Snow plow last week

A boat with its trailer (that lawnmower peeking out from the corner was free too!)

A camper (which I ended up giving to my neighbor)

And the list literally goes on and on…

I used to get tattood alot, it hasnt been too much as of recent though. I’ve got 68 I think. I’m probably just about 50% covered.

Only during the winter if there’s nothing else to do, I play runescape in the evenings. When it’s almost dark by the time I get home from work and bitter cold sometimes there isnt much else to do.

And usually when I’m doing all of the above I’m listening to death metal, thrash metal, or 80s/90s/00s country!

I used to play alot of basketball, but not so much anymore since I got back into skating heavily. I follow the NBA very closely still though!

I read a good bit too. Mainly at work or right before I hit the sack. Not near as much as @merciersj though! She is for sure the reading champion of this forum!

P.s. if anyone else on here is on or around the delmarva peninsula that skates or rides motorcycles, we should get together and skate or ride!

I work with a company based in Alaska and am about to start a second position with a company based in New Zealand (in CO myself at the moment). When I’m not busy doing work I tend to spend a lot of time either on Rocket League (3200+ hours logged) or Minecraft with friends. Started dating an amazing woman back in Aug and she has a goal of hitting all the US National Parks, so I’ve been traveling to those with her too when I can. She recently visited and we knocked out Great Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison in 3 days!

This is an awesome thread. Thank you everyone for sharing.

I like to do some small time things from time to time. I do poetry and song writing, and recently started taking up rock climbing (last month) and guitar (two weeks ago). I go to karaoke every other week with a bunch of friends (my go to songs are “I Want it That Way” by Backstreet Boys and “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers). I also bike a lot everywhere nowadays. Reading is also a staple (currently reading “The Overstory” by Richard Powers which I can already recommend).

One of my major loves, however, is Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian Martial art that focuses on martial arts, music, and culture. I was doing it for about 4 years consistently until I fell out of the bandwagon due to moving to a new city after undergrad. I got back into it this year and recently ranked up in our annual Batizado which is a huge Capoeira event celebrating what we do (I’m the guy balancing on his head):

I also like to go to regional burn festivals (think burning man or a place where a bunch of hippies go into a secluded area) at least once or twice a year where there’s an emphasis on new experiences and challenging yourself to engage in communities, art, and music as an authentic person. They typically have a large effigy to burn near the end of the event. These photos were taken from this year’s Firefly in July but in no way show anything CLOSE to what happens in the full week we spend out in the woods/playa (just the area where we did the effigy burn - in this case called the “Bug Burn”):

Other than that, I camp at least once or twice a year for 3 days - I completed my first solo-hike back in March which was an awesome experience I hope to NOT repeat again (it hadn’t occurred to me how much snow actually accumulates closer to the top during that time of year).

Also, for every single year, I seem to be invited to at least ONE wedding and love them for the celebration, music, and of course the giant bonfires my friends seem to be into (also me):

Besides the occasional hike and nature walk. I did a 100k over this summer for the first time and want to do more so might see more of than in my future as “fun” things to do outside of Pokemon. Nature is a central focus for myself that I automatically revert to when I’m not working or collecting.

Thanks for listening!

Perhaps maybe, just maybe, I see where you appreciate Volcarona? Awesome shots btw. You look like Missingno in some.

@kurtosisblakeinfini, if it makes you feel better, there are always a bunch of sound camps in the area and Metal is always played at a couple of them. Mosh pits will also break out if the crowd is large enough. Burn night is usually when that happens. Burns helped me break out of my shell more as a person and I absolutely love the culture.

Haha, and yeah, Missingno is actually my great Uncle. To be real, though, I originally used the blur tool on my photos because I use those two as my profile and cover photo on my Facebook. Don’t need no doxxing.

I’m definitely a big fan of fire so Volcarona definitely plays into that. It’s unfortunate that I dislike so much of the designs for Fire types, though.

My biggest love, far greater than Pokemon, is football (soccer). Me, my closest friend, his father and his brother support a team called birmingham city and each have a season ticket for them, we also go to away games whenever we can no matter where in the country they are. I also like to see my friends and chill or go out for drinks etc. When I’m not doing either of those things you will usually find me playing oldschool runescape, call of duty, fifa or pokemon go. My combined play times across those games would probably make me feel sick if I saw it but still I enjoy them as much now as I did when I first found them.

His girl was reading this post, thats why its first :ninja:
