volatile for sure. It boils down to them having the best team and delivering. They succeed in challenging areas for Bitcoin.
Bitcoin does have stuff in the pipeline that could deliver big. Timelines are guesses at best. Q4 this year is consensus I believe. The changes should fix transaction speed and cost. That would be big for Bitcoin if they can complete the project.
For me to recommend a coin though, itād have to be Ethereum. It has many positives and a lot of upside. Thereās not another coin you could reasonably say has a lower perceived risk.
Edit *** insert financial advice quote here⦠Ethereum if youāre investing in crypto. There are market risks to crypto that should be taken into account. The recommendation was for a specific coin within crypto, not necessarily against all other assets. I felt the need to mention due to (2?) businesses announcing theyāre no longer accepting bitcoin. =market risk. I still think itās a great opportunity. Iād ask you research/evaluate independently as you would for any other investment.
I agree Ethereum is safest crypto of all of them. There are certainly alternatives but 2018 looks very promising. For anyone doing it, do your research. There are some good tech companies/coins out there that solve a lot of real world problems. Im invested into 6 that all do different things.
I personally do about 50/50 in terms of investments between Pokemon and cryptos.
I work in pet care. Basically when owners go away on holiday I come in and take care of their animals for them. That covers half of my income, the other half is from investment properties I currently own.
Iām brand new here so I guess this is a good place to start. Iām mainly a director and producer but I seem to find myself freelancing as an editor and coordinator quite a lot in the winter months. Nothing glamorous like Movies or TV shows right now, mainly just commercials youād see on tv or online and the occasional music video. Iām based out of NYC and Miami but Iām hoping to be bicoastal and start getting more work out of LA in the future.
The easiest way is downloading the app called coinbase and buying your desired amount of ethereum with fiat (USD). Before buying, you will need to have your identity verified. That is all done through the app.
Although all cryptos are volatile, Ethereum has a solid foundation, has a great track record, great team, has multiple coins running on top of it and has continually increased since it started. I bought some ethereum in December at 700. It is now 1200. Very good ROI in a month. However, long term is my goal.
Let me know if you need help and Iāll help. Itās pretty simple overall. 2018, IMO, Ethereum is going to do great. Itās the future.
Well, I tried.
Went to coinbase
Verified a cc with two penny deposits made and I recorded them.
Got texts a couple times which I followed
Since only 750 was allowed on cc I tried the bank acct.
I got to where they wanted me to choose to upload my id. I clicked on it and it spun and spun and spun and spun. Couldnāt get to the next stage, camera stage.
Yeah, Cryptos for sure. Something as Ethereum as someone else mentioned is a very good stable option. I got into it at 380 around june and right now it`s at 1200 so you can see how profitable it is. There are dozens of other good coins that will give you a much higher return but for something simple Ethereum is a good choice for sure. Coinbase as has also been mentioned is a good exchange since you are located in the US.
Just wanted to share my 2c regarding cryptos as someone that works in finance - favorite disclaimer: past returns are not representative of future returns
Crypto has indeed brought spectacular returns over the past couple of months, but so did people that levered up on housing in the early to mid 2000s, and so did people that invested in tech during the late 1990s. Many got burned bad. Furthermore, as cryptos market cap go from 5bn to 50bn to 500bn, every percentage return becomes exponentially difficult
I think cryptos are interesting and own some myself, but seeing people allocate big chunks of their networth on something as novel and with bubble like characteristics is discomforting to say the least
Personally, I think cash is a great investment right now. Or use your specialized knowledge in pokemon to arbitrage between graded and ungraded, breaking down lots etcā¦limited downside and reasonably healthy upside. We are in one of the longest bull markets in history and alot of valuations are becoming stretched - sometimes the best investment is to sit on cash? Although boring
Donāt quote me on this but I heard coinbase has been adding 100k new users a day for the last few weeks. Iād just try again until you can get verified. Took about 24 hours for me. After that, yuou are good to go. Just know that a credit/debit card purchase is usually quick but a bank wire transfer can take up to a week to go through.
After you purchase, I highly recommend storing it in a hardware wallet. I wonāt get into that now but I will warn you not to take advice from people that private message you or ask for your seed. As always, thereās a lot of jerks out there trying to scam people.
Funny you say that, the first time I met @legendslugia251 I was at worlds sitting at a table with some psa cards, and we just started talking, no idea that we have spoken for years online.
Well, I was unemployed since last July⦠but after a lot of toil and boil I recently accepted a position as a Senior Research Executive for a small company in San Diego. Iāll be working mainly on projects that are focused on the data that comes from movie releases (view counts, sentiment, etc.) and the insights movie studios can glean from this data. Iāll be moving from Dallas, where Iāve spent my whole life thus far. To new adventures!
Oh that was one interesting night just randomly meeting @smpratte and everyone else. I believe that was DC worlds too. Seeing @anon92205803 at my job really was a joy to remember especially during the crazy time ahaha
