Currently a Commercial Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technician. Electrical troubleshooting, thermodynamics, mechanics, pschrometrics and some more. The work is amazing, a lot of travel, freedom, and constant learning on a daily basis. Will be transitioning into the Electrical or Thermodynamic Engineering side one day soon. But those Pokemon cards tho…
Interesting variety… very cool. I’m a lung specialist and spend half my time in the intensive care unit. Sometimes I come to this site and browse posts to relax and refocus between patients.
I work mechanical maintenance at the nation’s leading “mini mill” steel mill. A mini mill boils down to the steel is melted via electricity. Three giant electrodes made of carbon basically harness a thunder storm between them. Very loud, very hot and dangerous work but it pays well. I’ve been blessed with this career, I’m on track to have my house paid off in four years, and they have graciously offered me a full ride at college. Between work and school my life is very busy. After school I’d like to relocate and find a job that’s less hazardous but that’s still up in the air.
I’m currently a student in their second to last semester of undergrad school! Majored in business management. I’d like to go into financial analysis. Before this, I was a men’s fashion consultant for three years. I was the AM of a men’s boutique and taught/sold their custom suit program. Very fun job.
I am a delivery driver for my family’s office supply and printing company. I also install office furniture and I occasionally operate a old school, off set printing press, if our print shop is running behind.
One thing I have learned from working for a family owned business, is family and business do not blend well. Employees who perform poorly do not get disciplined or fired because they are family and to many feelings are involved. Several people abuse this at our company. They know that they are family, and they can get away with slacking off because of it. It drives me crazy!!!
I really enjoy browsing through this thread! It’s very cool to see what you guys do for a living!
I was heavily invested in bitcoin in 2010 and never sold until peak of value late last year, still have a nice chunk of coins. I own two businesses but for the most part I play a lot of online hold em, right now I’m working on a new site so don’t really have much time for anything else. Oh, and I have a worthless piece of paper that says I’m a computer scientist but I’ve never had a job working under anyone else since I’ve been about 16
Long story short, I’m lazy and spend my days lounging in the sun for the most part ahaha.
I use to be a mechanic when i was younger as my other hobby and passion is cars. I’m now a graphic designer for Fox Sports so had a pretty big career change also have a freelance business where i do the odd freelance job.
