I work in a calibration laboratory that calibrates electrical measuring equipment. It also involves a lot of programming in LabVIEW.

Currently winding down to my hobby (soon a business) of buying / selling / restoring old audio equipment. And listening to a lot of great old music.

In prior lives I was a Research Chemist, an Environmental Engineer, An Operations Consultant (Logistics and Optimization), and a College Professor. And also a life-long hoarder of any number of collectibles.

What years audio equipment
And
What eras old music?

Most of my equipment runs from the 1940’s (certain speaker drivers and mono tube amps) through the late 70’s or early 80’s (turntables and solid state gear from companies like McIntosh, Yamaha, Luxman, Crown, Klipsch, etc.). At the moment I have multiple storage units full of gear, so it is tough to get more specific. I figure I have a good decade worth of refurbishment projects.

My record collection spans everything from early jazz and blues through swing, psychadelic rock, folk, some early country, and a lot of rock. I also have a ton of clasical. I like to vary what I listen to, although not much modern dance music or rap.

Get out! Who did you play for? I played semi pro indoor on and off from 2010-2016. I miss the competition, but it was ridiculously disorganized, especially towards the latter years.

We probably played each other at some point! I played for Illinois Piasa & Illinois Adrenaline. I had peripheral minor injuries around the time you played so was on and off. Honestly the best part for me was training every week. It was nice just having a way to consistently play competitively.

I remember playing a couple away games in 2012/13. But I think there was only the “pro” team for Piasa at the time. They used to have both, but were combined due to funding; typical semi-pro things!

I actually was just thinking of putting up a website for custom boxes for cards for storage. I have several types of wood and can make them any size or shape with different openings (hinge, slide, etc.) Would anyone else be interested?

I have an extra 20k to put into something. What’s the best return I can get over the next 12month period?

Also, I have about 15k extra in gold coins (buffaloes and standing libertys), I wouldn’t mind moving it into something if smart.

Now get to work brother;)

PS…and don’t say Pokemon lol. I’m set in that market.

Ethereum for the cryptocurrencies. There are other, smarter plays, but you need to be much more involved. 2 of my close friends are big on crypto. They swear by it.
