I think it’s nice to know about something that you know you most likely will never get.
Sometimes completing a set you’ve been focusing on for years is a bit anticlimatic and you feel a bit empty, whereas having a goal that you know you will probably never reach keeps your interest up for ages.
Not everything is truly inaccessible… Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to find a cut-in-half-and-washed Illustrator one day for “only” 10k haha. Note that it’s not true for cards printed in 1-2 examples.
Not entirely sure I can relate as it seems to be a cope. However you are reffering to chase vs catch scenario whch is relateable as it’s ongoing but to say it as anticlimatic isn’t fair compared to when you are making new premium wins that literally shock your body.
Bro, I’ll take a heavily beaten up SNAP Bulbasaur over none. It’s more about having them all, than having them all in X grade. But with the very low printed, and even lower known out there. I doubt even a Heavy Played/Damaged SNAP Bulbasaur will ever be in my budget. Same goes for First Edition/Shadowless Venusaur. The “PSA6”/NM ones are now creeping but speeding up and I don’t think I’ll be able to catch them before having to spend a few grand on a card that basically is a binder copy.
PSA 9-10 1st edition Dark Dragonite No-Holo Error as that one is well above my budget to spend on cardboard. I would love to have it to add to my Dragonite collection, but will probably have to settle with a PSA 8 unlimited no-holo error if I can find one, as that is more within my budget.
