thank you all for the cool cards! I usually lurk through all of these cards in my free time but I might have to do something creative for one with special backstories and stuff.
I got this card as a filler to stabilize the envelope. It’s in bad condition but I am happy to add it to my collection. It’s super cute ![]()
Lately I’ve been listing and selling low cost vintage singles on eBay. It’s fun because I get to appreciate these cards when scanning and listing, and then again when pulling and shipping. I’m pretty certain that the vast majority of these cards are going into buyer’s binders to be enjoyed for their artwork.
Clearly, it’s not worth the time/effort from a money perspective, but I’m finding it an enjoyable process none the less. Case in point these two cards. Nishida Spheal from Undone Seal and Arita Trapinch from Miracle Desert.
Love that trapinch artwork ![]()
I love this card so much. My next goal is to collect every Dratini & Dragonair in English and Japanese. This has renewed my vigor to go and do that!
They missed out so hard NOT doing this card in a Holo.
Destiny/neo 4 has so many awesome non holos…Jolteon, Vaporeon, Wiigglytuff
But instead they chose a porygon lol
These two cards. Its difficult to describe with words what I thought when I found out about these cards when I got back into collecting. I am so far down my collecting journey, but I remember when I first discovered these cards - I couldn’t believe they were real. I wanted them so bad.
I don’t think about these cards that often, but I really appreciate them today.
I love it!
You’ve inspired me to also think of a card that I don’t think about often but that was described in Pojo (some old collecting magazine from when I was a kid) as the most valuable Pokemon card on the planet.
Of course, it wasn’t but Pokemon was new to America and it was pikachu with a birthday cake…how could it get rarer?
me when I cross into a higher dimensional plane of existence
This cute Azurill card by Kagemaru Himeno. Another great example of the amazing set identity of Miracle of the Desert/EX Sandstorm.
Nice Balance. Nice Focus.
Accidently posted this as a reply to someone at first, whoops. Anyway, Arceus has so many cool artworks.
I had not seen this card but ordered a copy due to your post. I think it showcases that even in a blistering hot market, you can find captivating cards for a collection ($7 for a slightly LP binder copy is stealing).
Thank you for posting!
This is one is absolutely gorgeous, i need to get one ![]()
100% agree.
My favorite artwork of Mitsuhiro Arita, even though he has made hundreds of other amazing cards.
