I’m not sure why, but today I’m really appreciating this Sandaconda V. The light sheen of the V texturing gives the card an understated feel. The pose is really dynamic, you can imagine Sandaconda battling against a Corviknight trying to steal its eggs. The background is also a lot more detailed than many other V cards, with the dead tree in the background a nice touch that sets the scene. Finally, I like Sandaconda as a Pokémon, the way they hide their necks in their body. There’s also something satisfying to me about the way they coil.

Randomly saw this on a Reddit post and was blown away. I had never seen this before. Didn’t care to read the Reddit post, just went to tcgplayer to grab this card. There are some decent Ponyta cards out there but this one really hit me. Beautiful style, subject, background and flow.

Today I appreciate this card, which a childhood friend gave to me as a gift; its sentimental value is worth way more to me than whatever its market price dollar value may possibly be.
Its also a cool lookin Pikachu card

Today I appreciate the biggest card that I pulled as a kid - Lugia ex from EX Unseen Forces.
I sold my original copy to Troll & Toad (along with the rest of my childhood collection) years and years ago. Fortunately, I was able to get a replacement before the market lost its mind

Today I appreciate the two halves of Lugia LEGEND. The cosmos holofoil on this looks insane and Shinji Higuchi’s illustration makes Lugia look menacing.
I find it interesting that TPC made all of the Lugia cards from the HGSS series water types rather than colorless or psychic. Excluding delta species cards and that one weird fighting type Torkoal card, TPC hasn’t been known to intentionally make a card not much one of a Pokemon’s actual types from the games.
Back in high school, I pulled the bottom half of this from a HGSS pack that came in the Typhlosion Prime tin. The booster packs in that tin were the very last packs that I would open until Celebrations came out in 2021.
Just like Lugia ex, I sold my original copy of the bottom half back when I was in college and so I purchased these two a few years ago.

Not a Pokemon card of course but a 1 of 1 hand drawn sketch of Gimli by John McCrea (a well known marvel / DC artist) who did a couple sketches for Topps’ LOTR Masterpieces sets.
Honestly I’d never sell this as the detail is just so perfect.
