I know why
Forget what I said about bottom heavy. He’s just right
Kabuto carries the trading card game. Every set he’s been in ends up being a top tier set. Master of the background, he deserves more love. Get this boy a full art card, Kabutops too
@grumblegamer18 loves them some horseshoe crab!
I’m actually a fan of the Mesozoic monster too. Hadn’t realized he was the key to set longevity tho…
Shining Legends Mewtube is drawn at a terrible angle and is very meh
I agree that Mewtwo is at a strange angle, but calling the art meh (especially with the context of when it was released) is wild.
Can’t argue that relative to other cards at the time it was… interesting, but I just don’t get anything from it
It’s a little weird, to me because it doesn’t commit enough to the concept, nor does it show off mewtwo enough, BUT Arita still made a really cool work with his favorite mon. It’s rare that he puts this much effort into it. I do like this concept a bit better though.
Still, I applaud you for posting that very appropriate opinion. =)
But did you try placing a fibonacci spiral on it yet?
Ha, I see it everywhere now!
I do wish the card was darker like xileets’ edit, maybe it originally was but that would never pass review from Creatures/TPC.
I don’t like the Mewtube illustration either.
Might be unpopular, but pop report doesnt matter. If its a limited amount or trophy card I could see it, but otherwise I dont get it. The current pop in a database means nothing considering it can be altered everyday for eternity.
I somewhat agree but while the pop will always change and be fluid, the ratio at which the cards grade will not change. Take T17 Typhlosion for example, yes it’s a kickass card that is rare already, but the biggest factor in it’s price and availability is the low rate at which it grades a PSA 10 and even 9.
With the typlosion example there are countless cards that are broken out of the case as an 8, or even 9 and resubmitted and gets a 10 everyday. Thats another example of why I dont think pop report matters. The constant circulation of breaking the slab invalidates the actual pop for almost every card. There are even 8’s and 9’s that look better, but thats another hot take. That broken slab misinformation cant be looked up either, so its pointless to consider, but always overlooked despite its relevance.
I agree with you that pop reports offer much less information than people suggest they do.
However, I still consult them to help with prioritizing purchases (i.e., what are the odds that this card in this grade will pop up again?). It’s saved me a few times when I assumed that a graded card was far more abundant than it actually was.
That’s the problem with Arita. He is the most iconic illustrator and deserve his place amongst the most memorable ones of the hobby and yet sometimes he does this akward and unrealistic poses like the play promotional Darkrai. I love this card but he broke his neck on that one
Here is another one. This poor Vulpix needs some exorcism
