What I mean by that is I feel the Pokemon who’s name is on the card should be the front & center focus of the artwork and not just some background accessory.
Two recent examples of artworks that illustrate what I’m talking about. The colors are warm and inviting and the artstyle is very distinct. These would be great if I saw them on Pixiv but as a Pokemon card? It just feels very off not having Charizard or Mew be the focus.
Maybe this is the boomer in me speaking because back in my days card art only gave a view of the Pokemon as the subject.
Ive been using him alot lately in pokerogue and ive been getting lucky with using accupressure followed by an attack. Hes not terrible, and has gotten me through a few battles. I also love the base set doduo card, very nostalgic for me
The first time I played Pokémon Blue was in the back of my dad’s van, while waiting for him to finish pouring a concrete floor, on a cartridge I rented from the Blockbuster. When I turned on the save file the kid before me had got to Diglett Tunnel and had a lv 26 Doduo that knew Fly. I loved that Doduo because it seemed silly that a bird with no wings knew how to fly and it one-shot most other pokemon.
