Card shops should be required to have someone who actually knows what they are selling or buying. Even if its just like one person on call.

I’m in a similar phase of collecting, and I have to say Neo Genesis is my least fav set in terms of holos and that the other sets grew on me way more the past while, especially Neo Destiny & Revelation. I think if it had more variety instead of 2x holos of the starters it’d be a way stronger set. Lugia, T17 and Slowking are pretty nice, but they don’t even come close to the other sets IMO.
With the others, the Shinings are really amazing, and I love the non-holos in Destiny more and more. In fact, I might even try and get a PSA 10 Light Dragonair at some point, what an incredible card:

I was considering at one point trying out species collecting with Dragonair… but I realised I’m not a huge fan of a lot of the artworks. But this one… oh boy

for sellers, ebay auth is the greatest thing to happen since the GSP program since it reduces the buyers ability to scam to 0. ive forced a lot of stuff through it that are close to the threshold by listing it for 250 obo instead of 200 or w/e that i would normally do.

There’s a few Breaks that are interesting. Looking back SwSh had so many ugly cards (regular V’s) but it was balanced with alt arts & trainer gallery
Definitely a lot of ugly cards. I’m not into modern at all but these three alt arts have lodged themselves in my brain. Beautiful!

These don’t even come close to how ugly breaks are. I’m not sure if we’ll ever get a card style even close to as ugly breaks are.

You said it! It´s sleek, it´s uncomplicated and it´s classy. I think a big part of why Umbreon is more popular is the newness factor it had with the dark-type.
