I assume they cuteified his face and gave him a skeleton because he’s a dragon type. Can’t have one of the shiny new Dragon types look like a bug. Blue turkey in cotton candy is fine though.

Color scheme, ground typing, pre-evolutions, region, lore and real world equivalent are all maxed out. I won’t deny, I cut Flygon more slack than I otherwise would. And he looks much worse in 3D.

Since i have more or less completed my base set goals, im exploring the Neo era as those are the last sets I collected when I was a kid.

I came to the conclusion that Neo Discovery is an absolutely gorgeous set of cards.
Even more so than Neo Destiny and Neo Genesis and almost as good as Neo Revelation.

1. Neo Revelation (can’t beat those shinings)
2. Neo Discovery
3. Neo Genesis
4. Neo Destiny

Yes! Neo Discovery is the best Neo set. The cohesion and ancient civilization vibes are unmatched. It’s also the only Neo set with duplicated non-holo rare arts which is why it’s so overlooked I think. Umbreon/Espeon/Tyr “rookies” are well recognized of course, just the set as a whole.
