A lot of stuff denying eBay auction prices. Oh that’s not a real PSA 10, stuff like that. Just denying that the market was inflated even in 2023 in many areas

A TON of them are gone. I can remember a dozen accounts selling boxes and high end cards that I haven’t seen post in a year.
The ones that are left have a mix of too much inventory/copium that we will come back to the days where any WOTC holo is 100$ min

Anecdotally, I’ve seen a pretty healthy boost in gold star sales recently.

I agree, and Id say CGC is not doing too hot in 9.5 or 10 either. regaining trust takes time, and I am totally fine with that. That graph looks pretty steady to me, my data point will mess with it. GS have been some of the most stable English set cards recently too. $2700 was literally my lolz bid, I didnt expect to win

The recent “To Von Gogh” Pikachu sigs come to mind in this scenario. I can only imagine how many closed-eyed deep breathes or internal eye rolls this man has probably done.
I still want to meet the guy and get a sig and tell him how much his art helped me on my collecting journey. Maybe one day.

Im buying shadowless cards that crashed 90% from their peak and even under 2017/2018 prices and people think we are in denial?
I think we went past that point a long time ago for the cards i buy😅

Arita still shares other people’s shares of his work, and I have to wonder if it’s a sense of pride, or gratitude. Still, I think he appreciates his fans, but just because you appreciate something, doesn’t mean you always enjoy it or don’t have mild trepidation about it. (Speaking from similar experience.) I do have a mild sense of FoMo in being able to have Arita sign my collection book… hopefully soon.
I think we’re talking about the average collector, and most of us here are not the average collector.

Agreed! Pokemon Blue outsold Pokemon Red but then people got brainwashed by ash and his Charizard in the anime but deep down people still prefer Blastoise. Right?
