The reason there’s so many high end/trophy cards for sale is due to no buyers willing to pay sellers private asking prices.

i am going to go out on a limb here and say ninetales is the best looking base set holofoil, venomoth in jungle, lapras for fossil, dark golbat for rocket, sabrina’s gengar for gym heroes and misty’s golduck for challenge. on a seperate note, i also have always thought neo gen typhlosion #18 looks better than #17 – never understood the hype on that one to me it is weird head positioning

BeCAUSE I haven’t documented evidence and research, this is an opinion, yet I think, not super unpopular. Looking at modern raw vs graded prices:
The price of near-modern (certainly SunMoon, Tag Team, maybe early SWSH already) is driven by people buying raw to grade, but the value just ain’t there. Good luck! Those full art holos look really hollow to me.
I feel like we saw this with XY a few years ago, but again, I FEEL this.

Using “gem mint” in the title of an eBay listing for PSA 10 is a waste of character limits. Instead priortize the full card number like 125/204 instead of just #125 like the PSA label reads.
I once saw an auction after it ended for an Umbreon L2 (luckily just a holo) and the seller just said #37 which was very wrong, its 037 for starters and 037/080 to be correct

If gold stars were not in power keepers, it would be a worse set than hidden legends.
Worse Holo pattern and reverse pattern. Also the ex feel “cheap or low quality” for some indescribable reason compared to all other sets

This hiatus has been way too long… Not sure if unpopular opinion but I gotta get it off my chest:
Van Gogh Pikachu is tainted by everything that happened at the museum and the entire scalper/flipper mentality around it. I can’t look at the card without feeling a little disgusted, my first association whenever I see the card is no longer the Van Gogh inspiration, but the absolute shitshow that went down. It’s ruined what otherwise would’ve been an exceptional card.

We should stop calling “bulk” cards “bulk cards”. Just because they don’t cost $$$ or are no holo doesn’t mean they can’t be amazing for collecting.
Some “bulk” cards have better artworks than “top tier” or chase cards in sets.
