If you see any in mint condition, let me know! I’ve been searching for mint graded copies for a long time. :heart_eyes_cat:

Yours is better than this one and the other one meaning the 10 in the sense that the line is more central on yours.

He’s got his foot on the ball in this one. You can see the other one on the opposite side aswell.

I love when the holo pattern appears to interact with the Pokemon in frame. It’s silly, but something that makes me smile.

Balancing ball Gengar, hmm. That’s a really cool idea for the art contest.

Changing the colour for the shiny version is lazy. I prefer a unique art like the toasted NEO Charizard.

Posted this in the BGS vs PSA thread and thought it might fit in here.

The smaller the scale the better. It would mean that there would be more consistency. Plus, as I said, PSA 7 and below don’t even deserve grades in the first place.

Grading is not just for Pokémon, with older cards it actually does make sense.
For modern waifu cards, not so much…

Not just modern waifus. Every modern card.

And not just modern cards. I fail to see why any common-rare card needs to be in a slab at PSA 7.

Even with the majority of holos from vintage.

Personally I think that if you cannot consistently separate the grades, then there is no point having them at all. It goes back to buy the card not the grade.

People who trust that PSA or any of the grading companies can reliably separate PSA 1-7 or if there is even a need to do so are putting stock into a bunch of minimum wage kids looking at your card for 5 seconds. Of course the same goes for higher grades, but at least there should are some objective standards for what should in theory be a gem mint card.

No offense but this just shows how inexperienced you are with psa grading. I can very easily tell the difference between the psa 1-10 grading scale. In fact it’s the only comprehensive 1-10 grading scale.

There are plenty of cards that make sense in a psa 7- grade. Trophy cards. 1st Ed base holos. Certain Wotc holos. Gold stars. Shining cards. Worlds cards. Certain Error cards. Certain Japanese promos. And when you get outside of Pokémon, most vintage sports.

I just bought some cards from 1888-1889 where PSA 6 is the highest grade you’ll see

A PSA 7 is a miracle

Agreed. I know a lot of people like to argue about PSA or just grading in general, but I have to say PSA is pretty damn consistent overall. Yes, there are 10s that should be 6s and vice versa, that’s bound to happen, but when you consider they’ve graded MILLIONS of cards… they have a pretty consistent track record. And yes, you could argue just about any card could go up or down a grade, but aside from that when I picture a Pokemon card of a specific grade in my mind, most cards of that grade are what I expect to see.

And yeah sure, absolutely buy the card not the grade, but I don’t think that argument means grading shouldn’t exist. I trust a PSA graded card wayyyyy more over Joe Blow on eBay with blurry pictures of a raw card. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought cheap raw cards to grade for my Gyarados set advertised as “Pack fresh!!!” and I get them and they look like they went through the washing machine. Just about any card over 10 bucks or so raw… yeah, I’m buying it graded.
