Not really. A majority them just have less interesting poses/scenes or art styles compared to what we got in Cosmic eclipse. VMAX Climax has gone for a more calm/relaxed theme with the CHRs, which is okay but I’m not into it much.

Lol, have you actually seen all the new character rares? All the cosmic eclipse ones are just posing or playfully interacting. Meanwhile several of the new ones are clearly about to or mid fight. And and the “less art styles” is literally objectively false lmao. Thats not even an opinion, its a fact.

Didn’t see Crobat/or Zeraora yet, those are at least little more action centered. Still like what Cosmic Eclipse offered more though. Shoot, look at Steelix vs Bronzong CHRS. Both Steelix and Jasmin are looking excited and battle ready. Striking cool, dynamic poses.
Honestly I feel like you forgot about the CHRs from Cosmic Eclipse almost half of them had great dynamic duos and poses. Excadrill and Clay? Amazing artstyle, great poses, both looking ready for battle. Dawn and Piplup? Another dynamic duo pose. Cyrus and Weavile, another great card. I’m waiting for VMAX Climax to top or do something like the Koffing CHR though, was easily one of the coolest cards of the set.

Theres more I can link and even more to be revealed. I think you haven’t saw all of them but there are so many that fill literally every possible desire from these cards. Several more artstyles than cosmic eclipses with calm, playful, stoic, exciting, scenic or cute themes and visuals. Cosmic eclipse is great so they just ramped it up offering what cosmic eclipse had and so much more with several more cards and artstyles. I don’t know how you can complain when they do what they did before but do *more* cards and *more* art styles. Once all of the new character rares have been revealed and your still not satisfied, then youre simply unpleasable lol

Shiny hunting is silly and I will never understand how people spend hours hunting for a Shiny when their stats are no different (aside from Gen 2 when Shiny Pokemon had higher IVs) and they typically don’t even look as good as their normal-colored variants.

Well it doesn’t help that Pokemon themselves have made 90% of the cards in the set worthless.

Holos are treated like dirt, doesn’t seem like anyone is excited about Vs or VMAXes so then you’re chasing what? Basically secret rares, of which you’re not even guaranteed any in a booster box lol.

And say they do get a SR, but then it’s a gold item lmao. Maybe kids are tricked by rainbows? They look like trash though.

Back then, ‘hits’ had the same definition between collector and distributor, now ‘hits’ exclude holos, so it’s like 1/4 instead of 1/3 of a box. And that is counting Vs worth $1 and VMAXes worth $2 lol.

Sets are also now 4 times bigger than back when I cracked open Base Set packs at that age. And even back than, the sets were filled with junk. Unless you had one of the 16 holofoils you were unhappy. Nobody cared for Lass, Clefairy Doll or Pokémon Trader. Hitting a non holo rare or trainer equalled to pull w/e junk you pull now. But unless you were a scumbag that begged his (grand)parents for a scale to weight packs at the counter you didn’t knew what you would get until you opened the pack and passed the 7th card in the pack. And getting a Ninetales, a Magneton or Poliwrath was still considered not getting a hit.
The rarity has been deluded, but the feelings are still the same. And many of the rushes, the feelings and everything that is connected to pack opening is being reduced to nothing due to “influencers” and their tricks, as well as the code card.

Eh, I disagree with that.

Any kid who didn’t have the privilege of opening booster boxes or an unlimited amount of cards, which I’d wager was most kids, would be trying to ‘catch them all’. It was at the height of its popularity. I was not just chasing 1 card.

You’re right about the amount of rare trainers though, which was lame for me as a kid. That’s why I liked Jungle and Fossil better even though I didn’t like rare versions of the holo - at least they were Pokemon.

**YouTube and other social media channels are ruining a whole generation of collectors and damage the hobby for the young kids getting to age of understanding Pokémon.**Been cracking packs recently with my nephews. And unlike myself at their age (6-10) they do the stupid card shuffle trick for every damn pack. Check out the colour of the code card to ruin their expectations from the get go “oh this is a bad pack because it has a green code card”. They have zero thrill of just opening a pack and hitting a gem in the middle of the pack.
Add on the most annoying slang and phrases these “influencers” have made up to fill up their video length to hit ad revenue and cracking pack with them just isn’t as fun as cracking cases upon cases with friends in mid 2000’s just searching for the rares and holos.

Now there’s something I can 100% agree with.

I gave up hope when I saw an UnlistedLeaf video freaking out over a Charizard rainbow rare card he ripped on one of his (Personally in my opinion, a lame and stupid idea) flip or rip videos while I was searching for fancy ways to store my cards (I eventually gave up on searching and just put up a shelf lol).
