What are your unpopular opinions in pokemon?

my pc needs grading because its a PC and it is what I want it to be. Maybe I live in a house that has a open top fish tank next to my cards and it evaporates a lot so I want humidity control. Maybe I want to display them in a case and not have to through pages of a binder. Do you seriously think every graded card is graded to be sold? and just for the lols guess who bought that card and can show you exactly why subs are needed for selling?

Clearly you do not value money since you have tons of it, which is fine, good for you man, not hating, but to act like money is not a factor with this kind of stuff is being ignorant.

We all got into Pokemon before it became valuable, since it wasnt valuable at some point. Im just keeping it real dude. To act like money is not relevant, your either speaking from a position of privledge, or are just not very good with money.

I am not rich, I live on my own and make around 50k a year in the US. I do not care about money in pokemon either. I have both graded cards that contain PSA and CGC 9s and 10s and binders. I have never sold a card publicly, only to friends who are other collectors privately. Especially last year when everything exploded I passed on the opportunity to make thousands of dollars selling cards like play mew, and 20th mew that massively spiked in price compared to what I bought them for because making money is not why I’m here. You are the one who’s ignorant of how the collecting atmosphere is.

I am probably the only person here who agrees with you the collecting subs is not worth the cost, but its not my opinion, its a fact that subs help selling for higher prices. You cant say “oh psa doesn’t have subs and they sell highest” its because they’ve been grading pokemon consistently and innovating pokemon grading since 1999 whereas cgc and bgs were less used because they didnt care about pokemon till it started to be worth money. Which company do you think helped coin all the errors and misprints and variants that we use today in pokemon? And if you think that is a 7 then I don’t really have much more to say to you

It can absolutely be graded a 7. You dont understand that PSA goes by the eye appeal. This card is very clean on the front and has some issues on the back. That would get a 6-7 most likely. 5.5 is definitely undergraded.

CGC wasnt around until last year and BGS was actually more used than PSA at a point. I dont think your as knowledgeable as you like to claim.

Never said you were rich. I said that you were from a position of privilege. Being privilege doesnt mean being rich. Why your taking offense to that, I have no idea. I would consider myself a person of certain privileges and if you told me that, I would take no offense.

And the numbers just dont lie when it comes to PSA vs non-PSA value wise. You are indeed in a position of privilege if you do not care what your financial assets worth, since whether you want to believe it or not, Pokemon cards have value and them being in a CGC/BGS vs PSA loader, is a difference in thousands of dollars. To have the ability to not care about thousands of dollars, is indeed privilege.
