There’s just something super ballsy about putting your mint vintage trophies in an UltraPro binder. Smells like tru collector spirit.

Not sure if it’s unpopular but I am really beginning to despise the use of the words “minty” and “pack-fresh.” Generally when I read that (daily) I feel my blood pressure rise. Not even sure why.

“Pack fresh” … then proceeds to pull out a card half beat to hell, with a crease running down the middle of it. The worst offenders are those on Facebook Marketplace and local Craiglist ads.

My unpopular opinion is that UnlistedLeaf is not that bad lol. I see that everyone seems to take hating him very seriously and I don’t really understand why. Unless there is some hectic controversy I am unaware of! It seems like he just enjoys opening packs and being an idiot on camera for views. May not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it doesn’t seem like it’s hurting anyone!

He’s been doing it for years hasn’t he?

I don’t follow which ones have been at it the longest, but I suppose any that have recently come up within the last 2 years or so would be dodgy.

Does he even sell anything? Don’t think so whereas a lot of others seem to have their own shops or packs and stuff which can be of dubious quality.

Saw a post on Reddit of a Leonhart box that looked like a scam.

Yea, I remember watching his videos back when I first started getting back into the hobby in like 2015. Never really felt like there was anything particularly bad about what he was doing lol. He doesn’t seem to sell anything, but I am not sure. I don’t generally have an issue with Leonhart either, but I am surprised that many people appear to respect him over UnlistedLeaf. Strange lol

I’m gonna add to that list when people say “First Edition Shadowless…” I think this was mainly used when those investor flippers wanted more buzzwords. but yeah, you don’t need to add the shadowless since all first ed base cards are inherently shadowless (except that machamp promo)

I noticed that as well lol! I was like all the 1st ed base cards are shadowless and it honestly kinda adds more confusion in my opinion to say “1st Edition Shadowless.”

That’s the only difference. What I mean by shadowless looking better than 1st Ed base, the card is balanced. There is no symbol on the left or right side of that card and no shadow. It’s completely symmetrical. Now getting into other wotc non-base cards, I like the look of first editions because you have a symbol on the left and right sides (1st Ed and set symbol respectively).
Balance, as all things should be.

Shill bidding doesn’t matter if the end bidder actually pays for the item. All it takes is two people to fight over an item for it to hit record sales levels. If the final bidder is willing to pay the end price, why does it matter how we got there?

part of the reason that psa 10s are boring is that they have no story. When you see a card that was loved you wonder how it got that way. When you see a PSA 10 you pretty much know that it was just a card that someone pulled, put immediately into a sleeve and then sent off to get graded - dull and boring.

The OC qualifier on graded card labels is almost entirely meaningless when centering also impacts the overall grade.

Most of the time, yes. But there are also people who collect those. There are so many ways to collect pokemon, which I love about the hobby. This just helps those collectors that care about condition, but also collect miscuts.
