Garbador (fake muk)
Meganium ( I usually love the grass staters, but this one was useless in the game)
Electrode (unorginal)
Ultra beasts (dont feel like like pokemon to me)
Miltank (I lost to whitney so many times as a kid)
Talonflame (gale wings made it annoying to play against)
Alonan Persian (doesnt feel like persian at all)
Groudon (kyogre all the way)
Charizard (Always liked the other two better)
Chansey might not have been chosen for a prime though. I could see it being replaced with snorlax or miltank ( if they wanted to use a gen 2)
Look on the bright side, Chansey was one of the 1st holos ever, hardest card to grade from Base Set, got its own snap card, Nurse Joy’s signature Pokemon, featured on actual trophy cards and also featured on possibly the rarest Pokemon card in existence. Its run was short but incredible nonetheless.
Yes… this is all true… but it is the “was” that kills me
@eldina , chewturtle looks good though. Not as cute after evolve, but still good turtle.
good compared to what? turtwig? squirtle? i don’t think so ![]()
Tapu Koko, Lele, Bulu, & Fini are painfully underwhelming legendaries.
Also Uxie, Mesprit & Azelf. Mew wannabes.
As a respectable genwunner, I started out with an immediate disgust for anything that I didn’t experience through the anime or from the 150 Pokémon on the poster my sister had up in her room. I was particularly repulsed by the keys and the trash bag. Being on the forum really helped me to see some Pokémon in new ways or be exposed to different art that gave me, unfortunately, new ideas, thus eroding my genwunner values.
I now love Ooyama’s trubbish (he’s so sad! ![]()
), and he easily fits in with the muk/grimer theme. People who hate him should also hate those OG pokes, since they are also “inanimate” objects. But I think the idea of radioactive waste is a great concept that started in gen wun.
The keys can get f’d though. Just saying that an object is haunted is super lazy, and I resent them all, with maybe a few exceptions. What is this, Beauty and the Beast? The ice cream is also a crime.
Trigger warning: latio/as, and salamence are also terrible designs. Their style is so blah and forgettable. I think this is emblematic of a lot of new Pokémon. New as in not gen one ![]()
Mewtwo. I like natural looking pokemon with Mew being my favourite. Mewtwo is an abomination and being man made, is not even a pokemon in my opinion.
Holy fuck the opinions keep getting more absurd. I could defend a majority of these and I’m not even big on them myself. Usually it’s unique/ good interesting concept turned into letdown outcome but without thinking the former part people have let out some Freudian gunshots.

@e2d2 upon reading yours that’s the fastest Like to Unlike ratio time I’ve made here so far.
Trubbish line are the heroes we deserve.

Meaning fastest like to dislike as you were reading? I hope you caught my sarcasm about regretting the exposure to new ideas changing my mind. Ultimately the forum is going to challenge any preconceived ideas and curated tastes, which is awesome. Except there is no discussion to be had about vanilla light et al*. Crime. Against. Humanity. And I stand by my statements re: the blobs.
*Still joking. Buuuut…the backstory is crap here, so we all have to agree the icicle cone was a gimmicky phone in.
Yes! I feel like understanding trubbish is the way to enlightenment/a whole new world for us genwunners. He and that line are iconic as the most offensive Pokémon to anyone who hates new Pokémon, but they’re also the most accessible and relatable to that same demographic with just a little bit of context.
I actually like every pokemon that’s been listed so far… except Slurpuff
I thought I was the only one, haha. Tbh, I don’t hate any Pokémon. But, there are some I dislike, so to answer the question of least favorite ones:
- Keldeo: never been a fan, and reminds me too much of My Little Pony.
- Emolga: design is not too bad, but it’s just so gdamn annoying in the anime.
- Lickilicky: design is too fat and not very good in general, and that name is just awful (although there are a lot with bad names tbh…). Deserved so much better.
- Alolan Muk: I like Muk in general, but Alolan Muk is basically a Muk that ate a rainbow.
- Galarian Stunfisk: I don’t dislike Stunfisk in general (although I can imagine why some people might), but the Galarian form is basically a combination between a bear trap and shoe sole.
Greetz,
Quuador
Binacle and Barbaracle. They are so hideous. Does anyone like these??

Lickitung and Lickilicky. Nasty af.

Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus. All boring, all ugly, and all to similar to each other. Worst legendaries.

Diggersby. Poor Bunnelby evolves into this horrible thing.

Bruxish. Do I even need to say why I don’t like it?

Just spent time looking at every Pokémon and every form ever so I could accurately write this post. I’m with some others where I feel like a lot of these Pokémon, while could be seen as lame are unique in that, like the key Pokémon, at least we don’t have a second one right? It’s unique as in it’s the first time it’s been in the Pokémon world. Now to get to my list of all Pokémon that I dislike for various reasons.
I think these Pokémon were just lazy to be honest, there wasn’t enough variety to really mix them up from what came before:
Mega Venasaur
Alolan Diglett
Gigantamax Eevee
Voltorb (I personally think one of these needed to be changed, but electrode looks better in my opinion so get rid of voltorb)
Mega Latios and Mega Latias really frustrate me because it was a chance to really make these Pokémon look different and now they really just look the same… they aren’t even a color change like before…
Lastly we have the what even are these Pokémon? Most Pokémon even if plain you can tell what they are or they look super cool. These ones I just don’t understand. Sadly enough all of these are legendaries but one…
Defense Form Deoxys (just so weird looking compared to the others)
Tornadus and Thundurus Therian Formes (I don’t understand how they transform from Gods on clouds to birds…)
These ones below just, I have no ones to describe them since they just don’t make sense to me personally
Necrozma
Eternatus
Slurpuff
Celesteela
Guzzlord
I have always greatly disliked Slaking
Every game (except shield) I choose a water starter so I was a bit bummed by Primarina. Intelleon finally drove me to just choose the Grass starter.
My favorite starter is Blastoise and legendary Kyogre so I’m a fan of water monsters. Old art Feraligatr is really cool but the new style gives him a beer gut lol
This is a really difficult one for me, but overall the award here im going to give to fire chicken (Blaziken). Torchic came out strong and so adorable, and then when it evolved it just got worse and and worse for me. Started my dislike for gen 3 with a bang lol, but to each their own
Holy fuck the opinions keep getting more absurd. I could defend a majority of these and I’m not even big on them myself. Usually it’s unique/ good interesting concept turned into letdown outcome but without thinking the former part people have let out some Freudian gunshots.
I think there’s a mistake in taking things like this too seriously. I think it’s great that you do your research on Pokemon. You’ve even opened me up to liking some Pokemon MORE in our private conversations because of the backstory behind certain Pokemon’s development.
However, I think people here are responding to gut reactions or things that grate on them. Not everything is going to interest them. It’s like how people have a preference to Norse Mythology over Judeo-Christian mythology at times. People have different and varied interests. Just like how we have preferences towards Pokemon.
For example. I love Charizard’s design and evolution. But damn am I tired of seeing the fire lizard pop up in every damn conversation or post or nearly every single set. Same thing with Pikachu. I don’t like them anymore. I can appreciate them, sure. But I don’t have to like it.
And in some cases, opinions on Pokemon change. For example. I disliked Mankey/Primeape for YEARS since my childhood. A couple of years ago I played a Nuzlocke challenge which completely changed my opinion on the Pokemon.
In that same regard, as @alecpokemon stated, I cannot STAND the Simi-line up. I don’t have a rationale explanation for it. I just remember coming across them in some of my game-plays and ALWAYS wishing that they were different Pokemon.
@eldina , Well Squirtle gang is super cute and they would probably laugh their butt off when they see a Chewturtle, but who can blame them? Every time I see that chewturtle art, I can’t contain myself. The buck teeth is so good. And the thin upside unibrow. I set the reverse holo aside for psa grading to be later filed under the personal turtle collection.
@muk After watching that video it reminded me how bad Alolan Executor is. I normally like executor but they made him so tall and skinny he doesn’t fit on the screen. And I’ve liked almost every starter but come on with this Sword and Shield water “Pokemon” looks like a cartoon burglar. Looks like a grass Pokemon wearing a crap water suit. Green under the blue? Just such a bad design. I also agree with @dizzle24 about Blaziken like. I do like Torchic but they ruined the rest. But that’s still a lot more tolerable and easier to accept then this knockoff water starter which I didn’t even bother to learn it’s name
I’ve seen some very good “least favourite” Pokémon listed here.
I have less issues with the normal Pokémon. I have more issues with the direction they went into with “special” Pokémon. I really don’t like any of the Mega Evolutions that much. The Gigantamax forms also on the same page. Ultra Beasts all feel like they have been designed years before Sun and Moon and because they needed a cool gameplay element, they got them out of the scrap book and made them into the game.
No. My biggest issue is what they these days label as Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Especially all after Gen 3.
The Regi’s were already such a terrible attempt on keeping an elemental trio. But they were poorly designed in both looks and functionality in the game. Followed up by the Lake Trio. Basically the Johto dogs but more annoying and less interesting. Giratina and Heatran were gameplay elements that had a cool design but nothing special. And Cresellia… meh.
It got worse… the Ion-dog trio and the Rus-storm trio. All six of them forgettable.
Yvental, Xerneas exception to the rule; 10/10 DESIGN.
And than we get to the Sun & Moon shithole. All Tapu’s suck, Necrozma is Giratina in emo-phase, TypeNull/Silvally Mewtwo wannabee. Zygarde… WTF happened here? He’s a Megazord without the rangers.
But it can get even worse…Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Diancie, Magnerna, Marshadow, Zeraora they all 1/10 filler Pokémon designed to be movie poster boys. Especially Meloetta, Diancie and Magerna feel like they been designed to add some Disney like princesses to the Pokémon universe and maybe attract girls to the franchise?
Zeraora is wicked design, but completely misused. I would replace him with any of the Sun and Moon Legendary Pokémon at any day of the week.
All of these Mythical Pokémon are worse than Pokémon like Klefki, Vanillish. We at least talk about Klefki as a bad designed Pokémon. But Meloetta… No. We don’t even talk about that.
