I think there’s a mistake in taking things like this too seriously. I think it’s great that you do your research on Pokemon. You’ve even opened me up to liking some Pokemon MORE in our private conversations because of the backstory behind certain Pokemon’s development.
However, I think people here are responding to gut reactions or things that grate on them. Not everything is going to interest them. It’s like how people have a preference to Norse Mythology over Judeo-Christian mythology at times. People have different and varied interests. Just like how we have preferences towards Pokemon.
For example. I love Charizard’s design and evolution. But damn am I tired of seeing the fire lizard pop up in every damn conversation or post or nearly every single set. Same thing with Pikachu. I don’t like them anymore. I can appreciate them, sure. But I don’t have to like it.
And in some cases, opinions on Pokemon change. For example. I disliked Mankey/Primeape for YEARS since my childhood. A couple of years ago I played a Nuzlocke challenge which completely changed my opinion on the Pokemon.
In that same regard, as @alecpokemon stated, I cannot STAND the Simi-line up. I don’t have a rationale explanation for it. I just remember coming across them in some of my game-plays and ALWAYS wishing that they were different Pokemon.
